Is there an inexpensive glow in the dark vinyl available from any of the manufacturers out there? i really dont need it to glow for more than about 30 minutes. the only thing i found was a gerber product. i forget the name right now but it was rather expensive. i have emailed a few of the manufacturers but have yet to get a response. if anyone knows if there is such a thing out there please let me know. also, what are the names they go by luminous? glow in the dark? Flouresent?......or a stock number if you have one so that i can ask for it at my local suppliers. if possible i would like something under $10 a yard as it will only be used ocasionally. thanks in advance for your help.

Carlos, It would probably be called "phosphorescent". I've never heard of or seen any but you might try a company, such as PhaseII, which sells specialty films. If they don't have it they might point you in the right direction. You might also try your search engine.

Tried e-mailing but it bounced back.
Have never used it but FDC makes an interior use only glow-vinyl
I don't know what you men when you say the material is too expensive. Charge the client what it's worth. They don't want to pay, move on. It isn't your job to spend hours chasing down material because they are just too damn cheap to pay for it. If you are too afraid to ask for it then... DON'T BE!
Have a great one!

Thanks for all your great help once again i am amazed with all the knowledgable people on this site. this request was actually for personal use hence my concern about price. i actually wanted to do something cool for my nephew as he is all into the glow in the dark stuff, and it would not justify the higher end stuff available. i am also thinking about some creative uses for it and would like to expirement with the lower end stuff before moving on to the premium. thanks again you guysa are great

Carlos,
Gerber makes 2 different kinds the novely grade is called Gerberglow #P68499A 15" x 10 yds which is their more inexpensive (don't know the cost).
The other by Gerber is called 3M Luminous Film and it is edge ready photoluminescent for safety sign meets ASTM 2073 and other standards. It glows for up to 8 hrs and is Expensive.
I got a couple of small pieces of each at the ISA show and you can tell the difference BIG TIME the 3M is like a lightbulb compaired to the novelty grade.

we use the 3M for safety signage. it works really well for it's intended use. 8hr glow seems high, but may be correct.
