i still f&*k up...waz up with that? this week has been terrible...i have made more stupid absent minded little mistakes than one french polish blonde chick has a right to. 3 trips to a location to put 2 lines of copy on a marquee...first time i thought i knew the measurements, 2nd time...i thought i knew the measurements...3rd time...i hope i know the measurements...that's the first thing i'm doing when i leave this am.
then just cutting silly little things and having the justification wrong on the plotter b4 sending it to cut...or putting on the next color and being a step ahead...(now a few dollars short)
going to go letter a job and forgetting my rapid remover(because deep down inside i knew the guy wouldn't get all the old graphics off without leaving a ton of glue)...but i still forgot it...had to drive back n forth.
having to measure stuff 3 times before i cut it...because i can't trust my first 2.

geeesh and i'm supposed to be routing a bunch of stuff on the cnc today...that ought to be interesting...i should set up a webcam for entertainment....or a documentary...don't try this at home without protective gear!

i'd blame it on my ADD, but i don't want to be accused of being a lazy dysfunctional wacked out sign chick looking for an only excuse....well i have another excuse...............

PMS [Razz]

oh and by the way...i'm not sitting here doing bong hits and sipping margaritas while i'm working...this is pure natural stupidity...lets not confuse the two. [Wink]

am i alone here????

Just shows you're human. The fact that it's bothering you shows that you're young. [Smile]

One of the perks of painting is that you carry everything in a kit. At my age though, I've forgotten a couple times this week where my kit was!

I had one of those days a couple of weeks ago. Looky what I did!!
 -
I normally do lettering like this in vinyl, but decided to use one-shot on the whole sign, since I had to handpaint the pictorial and the outline anyway. Customers picked up their sign and I get a call, I think you spelled it wrong. I give them the patronizing chuckle (ya, that's the first time I've heard that one!) No really, look it up in the
dictionary. I got that real sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach....thank god for Easy Off!!

Here's the new & improved version:

I think you just need a holiday Karyn!!
See you in Quebec!

That's a nice sign Suelyn.

Karen...after I read your post I went to change vinyl copy on a sign, got the old copy off, then put on the new only to realize I didn't cut one line of copy. No prob, back to the shop, cut new copy, back to sign, put it on and get done, then I go to give them the invoice..oh no, left it at the shop. Go on from there to bank and had to hit the brakes hard in town, and heard a gallon jug of Rapid Remover slide all the way down the inside of my van, then it falls over, the cap pops off and inundates entire floor with intense orange. Drive back to shop with my head hanging out the window because this odor is REALLY strong, where I get a call from regular cusomer wanting to know if I can get three signs done for him by three-o-clock. I've been misplacing things all day here, while I do these signs that were not on the agenda...and I think it's all your fault ! Now I have to go outside and pull the plywood floor out of my truck and hose the whole thing down, so I can return to normal tomorrow. [Roll Eyes] Whatever that is.

I've been printing some t-shirts this week for a local car club, full size logo on the back, heart sized logo on the left front. One of the girls had someone else pick up her shirt this morning. At noon she calls me and says she has a problem with her shirt, the logo in the front is in the wrong place.....her exact words "it's on the bottom side of my boob not the top" after I stopped laughing I told her I'd replace the shirt....she insisted on coming over when she leaves work to show me exactly where to put it [Eek!]

some days you are the bug....some days the windshield

Thank you Karyn. I had a similar experience a couple weeks ago.

Customer wanted some stripes changed on a vehicle. Initially, it was 2 colors, now they want 1 color removed & replaced with the other color. Rush job. I hate those.

I rush back to shop, grab the roll of vinyl, cut, weed, tape & fly back out the door. I go to put the stripes on & it's the wrong color. I turn around, rush back home, this time I check the number on the roll. Yep, it's the color I want. I take the roll outside & look at it, it's too dark, this can't be the roll. I get out the color chart, it's the right color. Then, I go grab my notes on the job cause I have to have the wrong color in my head. Find the notes, buried on the desk & check the numbers. Go back out, grab the stripes I had cut an hour ago, grab the roll of vinyl & they are 2 different colors. I had the pile of scrap vinyl laying on the floor still, so I grab it (it looks really dark) & stick part on my Durango. Sure enough, it's looks light now. Ends up, it's the 1 color that changes color on me. I feel like such a schmuck.

Attention:

Anyone going to FKAB this month should be aware from this post that Karyn, who will be attending, will need a group hug! I feel we are all obligated as Letterheads to give her one when she needs one.

That outta be a Kodak moment....

Hey Karen!

That sign is handpainted on diabond, the leaves are airbrushed right on the sign. Thanks!

We are officially on day number one of our holiday...spent the day at the midway at Regina
Exhibition. Yeehaa! See you soon.
