Come on Kelly! It's only money. In 20 years, you'll just remember the fun.

Who is in charge of the Letterhead First-Timers Initiation ceremony?
Posted by J & N Signs (Member # 901) on :
Mark Rogan and I are in charge of that. Thanks anyways. hehehehe
Posted by Bruce Bowers (Member # 892) on :
Hey Raymond,
You still got the big ol' initiation yardstick?
Just checking...
Posted by J & N Signs (Member # 901) on :
Bring it on!
Posted by Kathy Joiner (Member # 1814) on :
You guys picked one heck of a meet for the first one. That initiation is rough. If they will do what they did to an old dame like me, you're in big trouble!
Good luck Pierre I know it is going to be great and wish I could make it.
Posted by Kissymatina (Member # 2028) on :
My flight is suppost to land at 6:58 Thursday evening. I'm in for the party if youns want to hang out at the airport a bit for me instead of me having Pierre pick me up.
Posted by Mark Matyjakowski (Member # 294) on :
I'll be there about 6:30 Friday ... in spirit. When I first saw this meet announced, I thought, this one I'm gonna get to ... not a bad drive with family to visit in between. Was trying to plan it as part of a family vacation ... didn't work out that way. Even if it's on head tv I'll miss that too, being stuck in Yankee Stadium ... at least my son will see the pinstripes he wants to see. Seeing you all so excited makes me even more jealous ... I'm positive it will be a great time ... in my head I'll be there. Please take lots of project pictures.
Bruce, how big is the big ol' yardstick .... 3 feet? I thought the new thing was to shave newbies bald and stripe their heads ... but looks as though Mario's shaved a larger canvas for you guys already hahaha
Posted by Ray Rheaume (Member # 3794) on :
I'll be sneaking across the border by land sometime Thursday afternoon. Only a 5 hour drive from here according to Mapquest, so I'm hoping to get there at around 7PM or so.
Can I be in charge of initiation? I have some really cool marlsticks and I'm not afraid to use them! SNIKT!
Rapid

What's the room number? It's gonna be great to finally meet a bunch of you.
Posted by KARYN BUSH (Member # 1948) on :
where's everyone stayin?? suelynn and i are at the quebec quality suites...that was one of the two places with the letterhead block...with the shuttle....just counting the days!!!
Posted by Shirley Carron (Member # 2446) on :
Pam, Bonnie, Matt & I are all staying at the same place as you, Karyn. The shuttle will be handy... now all we have to do is decide who's driving who's car! I voted we should take a train there...so nobody has to drive, and we can all just relax and enjoy the whole trip/weekend. Looking forward to meeting you!

Kissy's All Night Bar & Grill. Sorry, grill is closed.
I'm at that repotel place.
Posted by CATHERINE FOSTER (Member # 2959) on :
Hey Hedz... I'm using Catherine's name cuz I'm AT HER HOUSE, bay-bee! Woo Hoo! Scotland is so cool! (I hate flying tho) I am on the first leg of our journey to Quebec, via Signology in Cork. First, we're going to Inverness & Loch Ness, then on to London for the Jack The Ripper tour, then Stonhenge, Bath, Cork, Mars, & finally Pierre's place, I'm stayin at the Quality Suites with Catherine & Matt the Hat and my 2 rotten kiddos. My first lifetime goal, other than having children, was to see Ireland & Stonhenge. The second was to have an International meet. Altho my life has sucked out loud for the past 2 weeks (4B died, then no power for 4 days)it's pretty damn good at this moment. can't wait to see yins, and no, I think I'll forgo the pink and/or blue do this year. But as a former International Hostess With The Mostess, I feel it is my duty to participate in the initiation. Love- JILL
Posted by CATHERINE FOSTER (Member # 2959) on :
Jillbeans again. Been there, done that...one week from tomorrow, we'll all be together! Anybody excited yet? Love- JILL

9 Sleeps!?
Who can sleep with all this anticipation??!!
Posted by Shirley Carron (Member # 2446) on :
I was too wired and only got in about 10 hours of sleep during the whole weekend, in Cornwall. I have to rest up now...just so I don't miss anything!!! I can always sleep on the way home.

I wish you guys all the success in the world and hope your meet is THE best EVER !!!
Just give us all the gorey details after the smoke clears.......... and PICTURES !!!

I am jealous too
As some of you recall, I threatened to make this my first meet, & the reasons I still want to are too numerous to mention.
Have a great one everybody, take some good pics for us! Somebody have a Molsen for me OK (make that a pitcher )
I have a rental property that is vacant right now, & I've been doing a lot of remodeling which is almsot done, but I've got to get a new tenant before I could justify the down time at the shop & the travel expenses. Unfortunantly other factors also conspired against this dream
I know I'm missing a great learning opportunity, as well as a chance to meet so many great people. The only bright side is that there seems to be so many great things about all the meets, & I will still be hearing about meets here that will inspire me until I finally drag my but over some ocean to some wonderful far-off land and mingle with you wood-carving, paint-slinging, leaf gilding hot-shot designers & all-around fun folk in person.
till then, although you won't be seeing me at FKAB, allow me to show off my work that you will be seeing... It will be part of that FKAB logo panel, right there next to the work of some real veterans, but here is my very first carving job, & my second gild (after the panel swap)

Looks great Doug! I wonder if Joe is going to give us a sneak peek at the finished product or make us wait to see it for real (in only 7 more days!!!!!) WOOOHOOOO!
Posted by Joe Cieslowski (Member # 2429) on :
Sneak Peek?
Finished Product?
Let's see, If I get the rest of the parts by next Thurs., and I work in the back of the van while Alan drives, ............
Seriously, (Ya Right), Mark Rogan and I spent a couple of hours last night drillin holes en screwing things together while spewing dust over everything and sawing peoples parts in half and doweling em back together (I got my hole in the center, Mark... ) en routing precise slots that were 1/4 inch for plexi that was 3/16ths en other fun stuff.......
Lets all PRAY FOR A MIRACAL!!!!!! (This Post WILL NOT be edited for sp!!!)
Mark's comming back tonight for a #9 Pizza and we'll see what we can screw up after that.....
"AOUT" means September......Right???
Joe, Makin Chips and Havin Fun!
Posted by Doug Allan (Member # 2247) on :
Here's an idea for a "sneak peek" with No Editing,
a "fly-on-the-wall" HEAD-TV look at Joe & Mark finishing up wrestling with this monster panel
That would be fun Good Luck Joe... I hope the parts all show up today!
Posted by Joe Cieslowski (Member # 2429) on :
Well,
I'm still waiting for One More Part....."My Kingdom for One More Part!"
Mark's not here yet so I guess I'll go grab a #9 and a beer and see what I can do. (Mark will probably be here later, he's on an install) I hope he likes cold pizza...lol

I confess, I'm the one holding things up at this point. More embarassingly, I'm pulling in last and had the least to do. Joe even bailed me out of doing the flag poles!
I finally sent off the flags yesterday, and was guaranteed by the post office that they were to arrive to Joe on Monday.
My sincere apologies for being so late, and I hope they work okay with the wonderful results contributed by the rest of the team on this project.
Very sorry to put Joe in such a tight spot timewise now. Nettie
Posted by Joe Cieslowski (Member # 2429) on :
IT'S HERE!!!!!
Well................it's across the street from me in the US Post Office, it got here one an a half hour AFTER it closed.......hmmmmmmmmmm, what does the package look like Nette? I might be able to reach it with my fishin pole
Back to the dungeon now to stick some more of those pretty gold letters onto the "MONSTER PANEL".
Thanks everybody.....I'll bet if I put on my magnifiers, I will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel
Joe, Makin Chips and Havin Fun!

Looking forward to the end result Joe!!

Mark,
No problem. It has been basically lick and stick since last Thurs when you were a HUGE help with the layout.....everything has basically fallen into place since then.
A big THANK YOU, To everyone who took part in this project!

Posted by Shirley Carron (Member # 2446) on :
Yes they do Terry, Don't forget...no right turns on a red light!! But they do have minimum speed limits.
