I just got done making a couple signs for my brother in law, for his golf course. They're very basic, "Block" lettering, rounded corners on the border, extra wide letter spacing, upper and lower case, lots of negative space. They go on his own property, but the state said they would make them for x amount of money, (6 hundred something each?).
He wanted us to get the job, so I made them. They ended up looking so official, I was amazed. I have some of the white reflective left over, and was thinking of making some magnetic signs for myself, not sure what exactly what to do with it.
Then it hit me. Why not make my own "official" highway looking sign, that says: Cool looking signs made here", and put it in front of the shop. People ought to get a laugh out of it.
Now since you Letterville people are so deserving, here's your bonus OT joke:
There was a missionary going on his first 5 year mission trip. He gets to this far away land and is served a bowl of soup. The soup has a fly in it. He loses his appetite.
Upon returning for his second 5 year stay, he is served a bowl of soup, this one also has a fly in it. He carefully removes the fly.
Time passes, he returns for his third 5 year stay. Again, he is served a bowl of soup. Only this bowl has no fly in it. In disgust, he snatches a fly out of the air and throws it into his soup!
I guess it's called acclimation, something to watch out for if you're part redneck.
