Letterville has always had a huge problem with spam. We own 4 domains, and it seems we get 4 times the spam. I'm talking close to 500 incidents a day!
Over the past couple days, I have been trying out a program from www.mailshell.com called SpamCatcher. So far it has been nothing short of fantastic! It appears to be catching 99% of the spam, and so far, none of our legitimate mail has been mistakenly removed.
The price isn't bad either. I believe it is about $20 bucks a year. In a nutshell, I am impressed! It's going to save us a pile of time each day, and that is always a good thing.
Download a free demo and give it a try. If enough are interested, it may be worth contacting the company regarding a group discount.

My Wife won second place, $50 and some other stuff at the Leon County fair for her SPAM recipes. And we NEVER eat or SPAM.
Steve, my sister has one of those spam catcher programs. When something tries to come through, it activates a sound file(gun sound with ricochet) as it shoots down the unwanted email. It works.

Steve!
You've rescued me. So far, 120+ catches. Only 6 misses. And not one was an intended e-mail. I'm recommending it be adopted company-wide.
I've tried others. None is this slick or sterling in its performance.
Great tip. Thanks Kimosabe.

I also downloaded the demo yesterday....AGAINST my golden rule "DON'T DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL FREEBIES".
Well....I don't use Outlook Express, configuring Eudora looked to be a pain in the butt and Norton Anti-Virus didn't like the program without doing the configuration thing.
Figured I'd just un-install it...NOT... the uninstall application wouldn't work.
Tried disabling it but still no go as far as Norton was concerned.
Finally decided to try installing it again, to restore it's defaults and spend some time trying to configure Eudora after all. Lo and behold it dectected that that the program was already installed and offered two options. Repair the installed program or un-install it.
I chose un-install and I am back to normal and so is Mr. Norton!
I am now a happy camper. Posted by Stephen Deveau (Member # 1305) on :
Dave Grundy.
You are right about Mr. Norton doesn't like to sit with anyone but Himself!!!!! and I am getting sick of it!
I have used the program for over 4 years now and as it comes to the end and you have to renew.. I find that my system or files goes to Crap.
Buy the new version and all is well again!
Someboby has me with Hook,Line, and Bait.....

I downloaded the demo last night, and I usually get about 40-50 e-mails a day, 90% SPAM. Today, the only one I got was from Barb telling me my Letterville taxes are due. Thanks, Steve.

Stephen..I love Norton AntiVirus!!!
I wouldn't and didn't check my e-mail without Mr. Norton checking it first!!
(I Lie!!!.I did check my e-mail using a web based email thing and it doesn't require "downloading" the mail, so no infection either.)
Bottom line fer me..Norton Anti Virus first..spam blocking program second!!!!
EDITED PART..
I have alwayed liked Netscape, and am now using Version 7.
I have always liked using Eudora for e-mail..and am still using it.
Probably because it is tougher to figger out than Outlook Express! LOL LOL LOL
