OP, It's like the bumper sticker from the 60s... "Hate cops ?, next time your in trouble call a hippie" What's the alternative?

my bumper sticker said "NEED HELP, CALL A BIKER." and i still feel that way. i see a biker on the side of the road....i make it a point to stop! this was in referance to the LUKIMIA post...i said somrthing there about not trusting doctors....you are right not much choices....but when i say dont trust...JUST ONE...get at lest 3 different ones to agree....then you at least know if the 1st one right or wrong. also they complain about their malpractice insurance....being so outragious....they need to police their own profession and not let the bad ones do sloppy work.

How could it be possible, that doctors kill more persons then guns and illegal drugs?
Sorry, Joe but I believe what the government tells me is true. I can't be reading some wackos site thinking he hasn't some hidden motive behind him. Now doesn't my reply seem far fetched to those whose grey matter is really working.

you take the billions on the planet, then get all the ill ones, many who have their own lifestyle to blame, then wait till they get ill enough to begin to think about health by going to see a doctor. Now you take those millions of ill people who are finally under a doctors care because many of them disrespected their bodies for decades. Now you take the highly trained devoted healers & healthcare professionals & specialists & put aside all the millions of success stories & focus on the thousands who died, many of whom would have anyway without a doctor (OK, all of whom... but you know what I mean)
So am I making any sense here...
now if everyone who ever gets sick has to play Russian roulette with a loaded pistol while experimenting with mysterious illicit drugs, NOW we have a level playing field!

That's why I don't believe in predestination. Our life is dictated by the path WE choose. I mean why do seatbelts save lives if we are predestined? Why eat a low fat diet if we are predestined? It's Choice!
There are lot's of options for medicine. You have to choose, and hope you made the right decision...THEN YOU MUST LIVE WITH IT. There's a novel idea.....accountability for a decision.

Where would we be without doctors? Some of us wouldn't even be born. My eldest son was breach and had to be delivered by C-section. The doctor did a fantastic job. However, the acting "pediatrician" at his birth turned out to be an imposter and was arrested and convicted.
The doctor who performed my nasal septoplasty, gave me a staph infection in my sinuses. I nearly died, had to be hospitalized, put on intravenous antibiotics, and operated on again. Then he claimed that it was my own staph infection.
A buddy of mine recently had a sponge left inside him after surgery. He wasn't doing well at all from it. They had to re-open him and remove it.
Doctors make mistakes and some are careless just like people in any profession. The thing to do? Choose your doctor carefully.
