Could someone explain to me how to do lettering using smartblocker. I want to put individual letters on a black shirt but what do you use to tranfer the letters? My understanding of smartblocker is, you use regular gerber foils and print the usual way not in reverse, so how do you transfer the letters to the shirt without a transfer type of some kind. Am I making any sense? [Confused]

I use Smart Blocker, and print right reading with regular Edge foils, just like you said. I use Smart Blocker though just when I want to do a picture (photo) or a larger print that might have letters as part of the image. Then I weed around the whole thing, lift it up gently with my hands and lay it on the shirt, cover it with the teflon sheet and apply 310 degrees for 10 sec..

You could do this with individual letters if there are only a very few and big ones.

I do letters with ThermoFlex. You cut them in reverse, then weed, then lay the whole thing on the shirt and heat press on. 345 degrees - 20 seconds. Then peel off the liner and then I press again for 5-10 sec. Works beautifully.

Hope this helps

Thanks Myra. I will try the thermoflex. I hadn't thought of that product.

I got a sample of DT-White from some outfit in Niagra Falls, (Rainbow something ?), it is a product similayr to what SmartBlocker sounds like. I tried out the edge print right-reading & ironed it on, but on that test it was a large coverage & I didn't like the thickness of it.
The other day I needed some white lettering on black shirts & I tried just cutting it, weeding it & lifting off with transfer tape. I put it on the shirt with the transfer tape (per the DT White instructions) & 15 seconds later @ 375 degrees, it came out great.

Ok, I'll bite....What is Smart Blocker?

And who sells it? Is it a thick white plastisol material you print on with the Edge?

Diane had a sample roll of something from Hyatts, we printed logos on it and pressed them on hats with good success but I don't know what it was called.

Yes, Ernie. I'd say that is what it was. You can even use this stuff on black t-shirts. Did you use it for lettering? There are other materials that can be printed on by the Edge but this is especially made for this machine. Cad- cut is another brand of this type of material.
