Thought I might ask if anyone here has any great recipes for juicing which they use for either energy or just health. Every morning I juice exactly 2 pounds of fresh carrots. All the vegetables I buy come from small growers or small markets. I never buy from national chain supermarkets because the veggies just don't taste real. Anyway, I juice just about everything including beets and add garlic to some recipes.

Are there any real juicers here and not Joe Pribish who doesn't really juice but buys 100% juice products from a health food store yet eats Tofu and still complains of back problems while snacking on ice cream and dairy products calling himself a vegetarian. [Smile] [Smile]

Joey, I've seen people juice their meats for dieting purposes.

Richard, that is the basic receipe for the original Bloody Mary or "Red Rooster" , beer and tomatoe juice. Clamato is a pleasant alternative.

you can add a couple apples to any recipe ..it gives a nice added flavor

try a handfulla carrots...some celery....a haffa vidalia onion....an apple..
and as many jalepenos as you can stand...
put it in the freezer till it just starts to stiffen

I take the juicer out doors in summer to wash it...
just hose it off...easy

Joey...I know nothing about juicing other than what I read. But from what I hear on a Mexican bullboard I frequent, there is a "wonder" ingredient that can be added to any juiced veggies.

It is called chaya and is the edible leaves of a small tree. Apparently it tastes like spinach and is known to lower blood pressure, reduce blood sugar and lower cholesterol as weel a being a contributing factor to reducing cancer cells.

I you are interested do a search on the internet and see what you can find out about it and maybe you can find someplace that sells it locally in your area.

Joey, I too have added garlic and beets to blends.
Delicious!
Other great additions have been a squeeze of lemon, some ginger,(yummy), parsley, and apple (as micheal says ... really does spruce up a juice).

They are terrific energy drinks!

No fancy recipe here, mostly when I do it it's carrots and apples. They go great together. I've cured some back pains with the combo, somehow. You sure go through the carrots, bet I know where you get your orange One Shot. [Smile]

Jim, the type of acid in apple juice has been known to soften kidney stones. A fast excluding apple juice for several days, then a table spoon of olive oil will help pass stones.

Joey...

Carrots and oranges go together well.Or add a little cranberry. Put a banana in it and ya got dessert.

My first wife was a juice freak. She spent more money on her juicer than I did on my truck at the time.I remember that celery juice is very sedative, and if taken before bed will guarantee a good nights sleep. Maybe you could mix it with carrot juice....its kind of bitter. The juices she was doin' were more like medicinals....it seemed like there were several recipe books available that were for the medicinal benefits of juice therapy. Certain ailments get certain juice "doses" several times a day........

Joey, I got a Champion too, unfortunatly, it serves as a drying rack for my dish rags.....

But....if you can handle the high sugar (and I can't) I used to love apples, carrots and a small amount of greens.....

Some people can drink anything they juice....I could never down the non-sweet stuff...

Anyone wanna buy a Champion juicer?

A:)

We usually add a stick of celery to every glass of carrot. Often throw in some cran berries when available.
