Hello Everyone! Just me again with a question. I just did a vehicle wrap on a Hummer H2, and the client was not at all happy with the application of the wrap. What happened was that around the side view mirrors, we had to cut the vinyl to wrap it around the side vew mirror. Also, around things like the door handles, some light in the back, we just applied the vinyl, and then cut around them. He thought that we should be taking off these things so the vinyl could go underneath the door handles and the side view mirrors. I have never heard of this, and niether has anyone else. I am wondering if this is a normal thing that happens when doing a wrap. Or at the least, how does everyone else does wraps on the different vehicles and how they handle things like seems, overlapping, and door handles and such.

No, You're correct Jeff. Only small, easily removable parts actually come off on a typical wrap. If someone wants to pay a little more, then that needs to be settled up front so you can price it accordingly, but that's not the norm. When we did each of these two RV wraps, the only things we removed were the clips that hold open the lower doors. They came right off with a phillips screw driver so no biggie Anything else they wanted covered special, we had them remove it and bring it to us that way right down to the awning supports. Even plastic bumpers were not included since they do what's called "out-gassing" which caused the wrap to bubble and come off prematurely. Of course they had us wrap them anyway but the bumpers came with a big disclaimer I mean after all we're not body shop qualified technicians. How the heck would I know how the mirrors come off a Hummer much less a RV? Posted by Tony B (Member # 935) on :
I loosened the mirror mounts on this truck to get the vinyl to go under instead of trimming. I thought it looked better. It didn't take long to do at all. It was easier to install it this way to.

Rob is right on this one.
Ask the customer to unwrap the vehicle so you can wrap it!................or..................
Do it yourself or hire someone to pull the panels apart and replace. Then hand the bill over to the customer!
