Ok I posted a few topics yesterday and have still have not made up my mind on wich cutter to buy.
my biggest issue is cutting directly from Corel Draw. I am almost sold on the Summa D60 because it can cut sandblast mask and it is a great price but I dont want to spend anothr 500 bucks on bridge software that might be enough to sway me to buy a Roland 30". Ive tried searching old posts and information is sketchy at best Is anyone cutting directly from Corel Draw using a Summa D60 and would you recomend it?

Dotn know much about the abilites of yer machine.
I know so many need to watch a budget. However sometimes the budget will cost you much more than u ever know..
I used to cut from Corel direct. but now i use cocut pro a plug in for Corel. It is not a bridge program. IT is a true Plugin. Works directly with corel.
I would recommend that you at least get the trial and see what it can do. Then you could get any machine you wish. Even get a high end used machine and still come out at a lower cost than you could beleive..
its the best thing i ever did. Found it used by posting for it around and got it very reasonable. The time I save using it and just a few of the features long ago made it worth it..

Don't quote me on this but depending where you get the plotter & software, they may give a discount if bought together. If the D60 has a parallel port connection then you could cut directly as DG & OP do. But I think it only has a cereal (serial) connection & would need the extra software to run properly.

Don't got an answer for you but, I got the Summa d60 and am very pleased with it. Seems alitlle more 'structuraly sound' than the roland. Have you considered Vinyl Pro or is it Vinyl Express. I was leary at first but have worked with the 48" cutters for 3 years now and it has paid for itself time and time again. Just my 2c

My D60 has both a serial and a usb port. I use the serial and have cocut pro which I really like - the welding function is used almost everytime I cut something and cursive text. You might want to check out the summa website. Jim Doggett is on the board a lot and can answer about any ? you have regarding the summa cutters and software. There does seem to be a few folks on here that use corel with out anything else and are totally happy so...

Just received a Summa Durasign T-140 53" cutter with co-cut pro....It ROCKS! I was so confused in my decision to purchase a new cutter. At this point...I have only had it up for a couple of days and so far I think the machine is structurally sound and extremely accurate, not to mention how fast its capabilities are. I would definetly recommend the Summa Cutters. Talk to Ginny or Drew at Summa...they are the ones that I dealt with.
