Got a quote out on some signs that will be routed redwood. Not the hard part. Question is my customer is requesting mounting hardware I have never heard of.( Of course I have only been in the sign business for a little over 2 years now). He wants metal bracketts, one half will mount on the brick wall the other half on the back of the sign. Then the sign will slide into place over the wall mounted bracketts. Has anyone seen this done or where I can find this kind of system? I am also looking for alternative methods if you have any suggestions of what has worked for you in the past. Thanks in advance for you help.

Most hardware stores have these brackets for cabinets.

Simple really...use angle iron...attach one set of clips to the sign with carriage bolts...and attach the others to the brick with any one of a dozen expansion type bolts...then bolt them together on site.
To determin the position of the brackets bolt the entire assembly to the back of the sign and make a pattern of hole locations so you can tranfer it to the wall for mounting purposes.
A typical "clip" setup would be made of 2 1 1/2" pieces of angle with 3/8" holes drilled in each flange and blted together with 5/16" blt and nut.

At John Smith's meet last year there were samples of some things called panel clips that I believe were aluminum. I've never used them but they looked like a neat idea. I don't recall who makes them. Sorry!
