We have a family reunion planned in Bryson City, NC the first part of June. It's in the southeast corner of the state.

Any "Heads" up that way, let me know and I may stop by.

Good place for tubing!! Real close to where they caught that bomber guy! I know there is a sign company in Murphy but I can't think of the name.

Have fun!

They moved Bryson City? Damn! Last time I was there it was in the westernmost part of the state!!hahahaha.....just yanking yer chain Pat. Yes, Bryson (as the locals call it) is in the southwestern corner, near Cherokee where I lived off and on for 18 or so years. Make sure to do some whitewater rafting on the Nantahala (Land of the Noonday Sun)River while you are there. It's a lotta fun.

Actually, Eric Rudolph grew up in the little community of Nantahala which is west of Bryson a ways.

You'll pass through the "gorge" to get to Bryson if you take I-75 north and then 64 east to get there. I imagine that with you coming up through Florida you'll be taking Hwy 23 up from around Atlanta. That's going in the opposite way. But Nantahala is not far whichever way you go into Bryson.

Look up Robert and Caridad Davis (Sticky Sam's Signs). I think you have probably met them at a meet. Not sure which one. They aren't hard to find. Bryson isn't THAT big! Also, another "head",Roger DiNofa, lives in Waynesville, not too far away. Call 'em up. Maybe you guys can have a "mini-meet".

Hope you guys have a great time. I plan on being up there for Fall Festival the first week in October this year.
See ya,
R.T.

I don't know that part of the country at all, but one of my kids will be going to school in Boiling Springs near Shelby. Is that in the area of which you speak?

Rick - sorry I didn't get back to you sooner...I hadn't checked this thread in a while.

As to your question...I have no idea! This is a reunion that my cousins set up and I haven't been to that paticular part of the country yet.

I may be able to tell you when I get back...
