I thought we have heard every excuse possible for non payment, this one was good, but is it true?:

To funny - lucky for me all the checks were still there and they did not give her the pen she wanted to write on them - I was really shocked but glad they had it and not someone else.
Any "Creative Excuses" you'd like to share?

My favourite - after trying to collect for several months on a very small job done for the YMCA camp - their corporate head office asked if I would take a charitable receipt in lieu of payment. Not wanting to also become a not for profit institution, I opted for cash.

Deb, that probably really happened! When my oldest grand daughter was in the first grade she took her mother's check book to school and did the same thing. The teacher collected all the checks she had passed out to her classmates. She had told them that all they had to do was write on it and you could buy anything.

This one in today...no kidding! I couldn't invent this if I sat down and tried!
