They have to be metal. I called Gemini and they didn't have such a thing. I believe the guy is wanting cast letters maybe. His specs say channel letters though. Any ideas, Any other sources?

It really sounds like he is looking for cast metal since they look like reverse channel letters. I just got a bunch of 10" bronze from Gemini and they are really cool (and heavy)

Gemini doesn't have brass and SteelArt uses Titanium gold.

Customer said they have to be actual brass and yep, he wants cast letters.

Still looking!

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Amy,
Can he deal with flat cut brass letters as this can be done on a router table or does he want the thickness of cast letters.. If he wants cast it can be done.. BUT Pricey. As you would have to machine or carve a master and then make a mold either sand cast, RTV or slurry mix and lost wax casting. Their are some foundries you could send them to in Loveland CO. "Loveland Sculpture Works" If memory serves me right..

Hope this helps.

Dennis,

That is one of the funniest posts I've ever read here. Oh God, am I a geek or what?

Amy, there are a number of companies that will make you a brass channel letter. The problem with brass is that they are a maintenance problem after the original finish burns off. Titanium gold used to be sold as a premium alternative. Above posts suggest some vendors are dropping brass.

The last two jobs I did with sheet brass were produced by AFI in Sacramento CA, and both were first class. Call Ron Witherow at 916 646 2122 fax 916-646-2111. It's been a couple of years ago, but Ron used to respond to a complete fax request for quote in about a day. I enjoyed working with them.

Right off hand I can't remember the the name of the other company like Steel Art, but they advertise in Signs of the Times. You might scan the ads. I may have been US Sign. Vic G
