I was lettering for our 6 local ford dealerships this week. All of the solid blue ovals everywhere now have to come down and the new one fazed in. NO Airbrushing allowed.
I was told by the district manager that the logo had to be identical all over the world.
Oh yes Duncan, I'm gonna rush right out and buy a digital printer. Which one should I buy?

Mike I've been doing digital on the new logo for the blue oval certified stuff, the big problem is not having digital, its getting some moron at the dealership to get you the correct artwork.
Hey Joey dont sell the 4B yet lol

riiiiight
"new" oval ??? all I see is an added fade
wonder what idiot charged them buckets of money to make such a minor change (hmmm idiot may be the wrong word)

I believe the new UPS logo has some blended fade thing going on in it as well. And I predict you will see more and more of this "trend" as a result of the digital revolution.
The times they are a change'n

No, Mark. "Idiot" is the correct word. Great choice!

Sorry Mark...I have to retract that last statement. It was the guy who signed the PO that is the idiot. Any wild guesses how many zeroes in the check?

Madden and others,
I did not imply you should run right out and do anything. All I said was Airbrushed ford logos won't fly with the new look. Why be so defensive?
You must not do any Corporate ford work, so this may not even be an issue for you. But thanks for the Jab anyway Madden.

Seems to me this may be a bit premature since, according to Ford's website, the new logo won't even be unveiled until June.
In my Market, the first sign company at the door with the new stuff has a huge sales advantage for Banners, Door lettering, Service trucks etc., but that's just my work ethic.
Since Headquarters has already ordered large quantities of these new logos for the change over scheduled next month at our area dealerships, I'd say It's not premature at all. But again, Thats just me. And I centainly don't have any Idea what I'm talking about.

Did I say something wrong here? My reference was to the statements about it just having a fade changed. The article doesn't show the new logo nor does Ford's website.
We just did a number of prints of Ford logos for a local street festival where Ford was a major sponsor. The files we were supplied were vector EPS but were only the 100 year anniversary versions. Today is the first I've heard anything about the changeover.
I agree that it's a great time to check in with your local Ford dealership.
