I am working in 9.0, and when I select the eraser tool and try to erase an object (lets say part of a circle), I end up with a "path" of where I dragged the eraser, and a lot of nodes. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

You're doing nothing wrong. Thats how the tool works. It erases whatever you rub the tool over.

The problem I am having, is that I am left with a "squiggly" path of where the eraser was.

what exactly are you erasing? I've used Corel for several years now, and as of yet can't remember ever having a need to use the eraser. There are usually simpler, more accurate methods of doing things than freehanding things, such as the eraser tool. Just curious........ [Smile]

Bob,

I am a total newbie with Corel but I tried something that may work for you.

I made a circle
I used the Knife Tool to cut off a section
(make sure auto close on cut is 'off)
(make sure save as one object is 'off')
I used the Shape Tool to select the portion(s) I didn't want and deleted it

Would have been easier in this case just to start with an arc but this technique will work on other shapes too.

Good luck!
Dave
