If so... will you tell me about it? We have our card through my old credit union with a 9.9% fixed rate. I would like to find a card with a lower fixed rate, maybe one with a low balance transfer rate as well.

I've been watching offers, checking the net, etc etc etc... but I would rather deal with one that people are familiar with and use themselves. So far all I've found end up with rates not that much better, or too much in the small print.

If you have a card and you are very happy with it, please let me know, ok?

Thanks!

all of mine are 3.9% for the life of the loan...and no transfer fee. i finance my business on my c/c...i definitely play the game...i never pay an annual fee or transaction fee...actually i take that back i did pay $50 for a $10,000 check 0% til sept 2003...when sept rolls around it will get pd off...i'm just using their money for practically nothing.

the one thing about c/c is this...to get the great rates you have to have perfect credit..and i mean perfect...never be late...and i mean NEVER. and never use those checks without reading the fine print...make sure there is no fee and make sure there is NO balance on that card...because you'll be paying ahigh interest on the existing balance and when you use the check you'll have the low rate...but every payment you make will pay off the low rate first so you just end up paying a high rate on that old balance...so only use the checks if there is a zero balance.

i can talk to you in depth about this over the mayhem meet...i am the queen of finance...i'm refinancing my house again...3rd time in 2 years...went from 8 3/8(in beginning) to now 5.75% fixed rate for 30 years..no points no closing cost..and they come to your door step for the closing. the deals are out there, you just have to be savy in getting them.

we'll chat later.

I'm happy with my credit card too. I chopped it in half and threw it away!

I think Cheryl has the right idea there... but for convenience we use cards for purchasing supplies. In fact we started buying everything with our MBNA card and we get airline mileage so this Christmas we will be on Kauai for a week. For a family of six that would just not happen for us with out the free airfare. Just make sure you pay off the card every month and you cant lose.

Karyn - I'm gonna take you up on that!! I'm pretty good with budgeting and financing stuff, so we will probably have a good time over it! LOL!!

Two credit cards here...Mastercard has airmiles attached to it so I pay virtually EVERYTHING with it (like Karyn, I pay all of my shop expenses with it) and pay it off each month on or before the due date. Those free airmiles are GREAT!!!! [Smile]

Visa is attached to a secured line of credit at a rate of 1% over prime. I use it if there is something I HAVE to buy but figure I won't be able to pay it off completely by the due date.

I use a mastercard debit card for all my business purchases. No fees, no interest, and its my money Im using. I wish I could be like Karyn, and I applaud her for being that way, but sometimes I used to get behind when business wasnt as good. That'll do you in. Having a good credit record is one of the most important things in life. Ask me how I know.

"The borrower is slave to the lender" I cut my cards up. If I can't pay for it I can't have it. It's never been a problem. I make sure my money is earning interest and not paying it.

If anyone is interested in getting out of debt go check out Dave Ramsey.com great info ! changed the way I handle money and I can honestly say I'm much better off.

Love my credit Card. CIBC Aerogold

Trick is to have a low cost line of credit other than credit card, and never carry a balance on card. I haven't paid for a plane ticket since 1995 and I do travel often. Everything goes on the card includng Items I finance like equipment & vehicles.
