My cutter is stopping in the middle of the jon and on my production manager it says "write port error" Please if this has happened to anyone, and you know how to fix it, could let me know. Tech support is a joke.

Mine did the same thing a few months ago. Are you using the USB dongle?

Tech Support asked me if I was using the USB converter cable that came with the cutter. They said that was probably the problem and that I should hook it back up with the serial or parallel cable to fix the problem. If I remember correctly.....I just unplugged the USB stuff (dongle and cable) and plugged them in different sockets. Rebooted the machine and haven't had the problem since.

Tech support at Sign WareHouse is not a joke. I have used their Ultra Pro Cutter and LXi software for 3 years. Software and machine a workhorse. No problems that could not be fixed easily. Ask for Dustin in tech support. He cares and will help you with your problem.

Have you been using this plotter and system fine, then all of a sudden a problem? Has anything changed or been adjusted? Usually stuff just doesn't up and happen without a cause.

Or have you just set it up? Then that would make for another list of causes.

I don't know much about computers, except they LOVE to frustrate you with some dumb little something.

It totally baffles me whenever someone complains about the tech support from GBC Signwarehouse! I love those guys!! I can't tell you how much time they spent with me when I first got started. I had NO clue about computers and plotters (the shop I worked at before had a 4B). I talked to them so much, I think they recognized my voice when I called!

Then I had some problems when setting my plotter back up here... spent a bunch more time on the phone with them again. This time it ended up to be a computer problem.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about these guys. Plus they are great supporters of this site. Ron is the last guy I talked to there. He was very helpful.

Maybe give a little more information - there's some really great people on this board that might have some ideas as well.

Good Luck!!
