I actually cut vinyl on my plotter today for the first time since I closed my shop and moved!!!
After having a heckuva time between trying to get a different computer set up, ports, programs, long distance phone calls, tech support and a couple REALLY nice guys from the site here... YIPPEEEE!!!
A couple things that I learned:
The phrase "Oh yea... THAT'S how you do that..."
Exacto knives stay sharp after not being used for several years...
Really old clear R-Tape turns golden brown after several years...
Really old clear golden brown R-Tape gets really curly after several years...
A staple in each corner helps to hold down really curly old golden brown R-Tape to the backing paper...
Gosh... I almost feel like a signie person again...

Too many!! To make a VERY long story VERY short... My old computer finally reached the point of no return. I got a different computer from my brother in law, but the plotter wouldn't work.
Spent quite a length of time with the wonderfully understanding and patient tech support at GBC Signwarehouse... but never did work. Figured it was something in the computer itself - the com ports don't work and there was only one lpt port.
I tried adding more com ports, but then my sign program wouldn't work. Spent some more long distance phone time and lottsa suggestions from several people... finally up and running now!
