Tonight, Monday the 7th, I'll be in the Letterville Chat Room from 6-10 PM, Eastern Time (remember, it's daylight savings time).

I'll be there to answer any questions regarding Signgold products and proceedures, address any concerns, etc.

Thanks to all of you (and there were lots of ya!) for stoppping by the SignGold booth at the ISA show in Las Vegas, it was nice to meet some familiar names!

See ya this evening,

Brian Briskie

I'm embarrased to ask this but -- how does one get on the SignGold chat? I can't find a button or whatever to press to access. I'm new to Letterville and never been on any chat place so don't know the ropes.

Hi Dawn...
It's not actually a SignGold chat, it's the regular Letterville Chat Room (the green button on the main Letterhead.com page)...I'll just be there representing SignGold this evening.

Brian,
I had a panel party last weekend(mar 28-29).
I talked with Art Schilling about some SignGold. He helped us out with some samples. Great guy that Artie. I just wanted to let you guys know that I have been really impressed with their products, service, and help. I have an awesome panel that two guys did using SignGold. Will you be in Ft. Myers? I have heard alot about you, but never had the pleasure of metting you.
Donald

Hey Brian I probably wont be able to make the chat tonight but wanted to ask why Signgold doesn't offer a softer spin on thier engine turned. I stopped using it for that pourpose alone. Every job I see is really hard to read because the spin is too machined and too prominant. Real gold spins are a lot softer and more subtle.

Hi Brian,
I'm sorry, can't make the chat tonight, got a meeting I can't miss. It was nice meeting you in Vegas and thanks for sharing your thoughts on cutters. Hard choice, they all look good.(?)
Thanks

I never thought about it til now, but I have to agree with Bob. I'd like to see a version of sign gold with softer spins, kinda like original recipe or extra crispy.

Rob,

Sorry you won't be able to make the Letterville chat tonight.

The "turns" in SignGold are machine-embossed from behind, into the Tedlar film. 10 years back, SignGold worked with many, many gilders across the country and beyond, and had to decide on a depth and sharpness that would cover the broadest range of needs. While most engine turning does indeed create a "softer" spin, the turning on SignGold products is visable from more angles, and from the greatest distance.

As you can imagine, it's really not possible to perfectly recreate ANY hand-wrought effect that will appeal to all people, and work in all situations. Comments like yours however, we take to heart, and store in our "Research and Developement Idea" vault, as it were.

We've had other, very good suggestions and input such as your own, including adding "leaf-lap lines", etc., and are always looking for ways to expand and improve on our product line.

Thanks for a good inquiry.

Keep on keepin' on,

Brian Briskie

I have always wondered why, if it is 23k gold, why is the back side which you can see through the clear carrier, silver in appearance?

Posted by BrianTheBrush (Member # 1298) on :

well EmpY...
the gold is genuine 23k...the backing is a metalized material that add opacity, and is the adhesive as well.

If it were just the thin layer of gold..it wouldn't be almost transparent.

Keep on keepin' on,

Brian Briskie
