Been wierd weather around here lately. A week ago it was nice enough the wife was planting bulbs ... got a little colder ... then BANG an ice storm yesterday.
The kind where stuff comes down.
We were lucky and kept power so it was more an anoyance than what the people a few miles north of me got.
It was sooooo cool looking.
Wake up yesterday to the coolest looking lawn ... every blade of grass had about a half inch crystal clear wrap ... so cool looking.
 -
Slid my ass down the driveway to scrape off the car which was had solid blanket of ice ... sucked but was so cool looking. Open the door and watch the sheet crack all the way down the car ... cool.
Did loose my kids climbing tree
 -
sucks, but looks so cool, and fell away from the house ...
a weekend playing with the chiansaw isn't all a bad thing

Really, to have this crap in April after being teased with spring truly sucks ... but it looks so cool

When I lived in NY, I used to scrape the ice off the trucks windshield until I got a remote starter attached to the alarm system, sure makes it easier to hop into a warm vehicle.

Now that I live in southern Oregon, I haven't worn a jacket in 3 years. 2 days ago I woke up to snow, then sunshine, then rain then 70º weather for the rest of the day. Here in Grants Pass there is a saying ' if ya don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes' and in town there is a year round banner that crosses 6th. street and it says 'Its the Climate'

It's 87 in the shade here today. It's already too freakin' hot! Enjoy your cool weather.

On a good note, paint dries real fast! [Smile]

Last week, we were in the 70's & 80's. Everything was covered in yellow due to the pollen.

This week it won't break above 60f and is suppose to rain everyday this week right on through Saturday.

Guess which makes my allergies happier. [Big Grin]

60's 70's & 80's??? Oh My!!!
We couldn't quite crawl out of the 30's today here in mid-upper NY... and I hear we have one hell of a snow storm on it's way... 'll dump 6 - 12" on us..., this after the 1/2" of ice storm last weekend. Wonderin' at what age I'll stop saying 'Oh, I enjoy the 4 seasons & changes..."
[Frown] & my paint wouldn't dry on a small sample sign I hope to have ready tomorrow..., Off to add another log to the woodstove!

Well Mark, just 40 min. south of you in Bristol, we just got power back. It went out Friday night at 10:30. No heat, no electric and no water. I'm sure glad that I've got 6 face cords of wood left over, at least it was toasty in the rooms downstairs. Everyone slept in the livingroom by the woodstove for the weekend.

Wegman's in Canandaigua was open and handing out free coffee (instant). They didn't have power either, so they rolled the frozen foods outside and had an emergency generator to light the place.

Boy, you don't realize what you take for granted until it's gone! My wife was a little p'd at me because I had two 4x8's drying in the diningroom. After 20+ years you'd think it wouldn't bother her anymore......

They say there's 4-6 inches coming tonight.

Well... get ready for it, because here in Niagara Falls, we got about 4 inches already!! Right on top our skating rink, we used to call the driveway.

And to think when I first moved here, they bugged me about Minnahsootah weather... HAHAHAH!!

Mark,

We enjoyed the short summer, I bought a power polesaw and started trimming trees last week, but Friday nature decided to help out with a little ice. Lots of people still don't have power. But we are all set, I bought a generator and now we never seem to loose power any more.

We had to light the wood fired boiler again, I thought we were done for the season.

anyone want to move to upstate NY?

ernie

what is spring? Oh yeah, I remember now, its when most of the rest of you folks change your clocks & my clueless vendors back east start waking me up with phone calls an hour earlier then before.
