To those who are looking for those odd-ball items that Rick always had, Mike Jackson has compiled a list of suppliers on the "Green Page". It is an on-going adventure, so you might check in from time to time.

I think this was mentioned earlier, but I'm just bringing back up to the top.

Also, Mike is to be commended for doing the leg work on so much of this (he did have some help) and donating a lot of time to be sure that we had a source for glass and gold related products.

Thanks a bunch Mr. Jackson.

As a side note: I understand that Rick's safe has been opened and there was no will inside, so the probate process will be followed. Looks like we are in for a long period of waiting.

I will concur with you on thqat Raymond!

I too have been trying to help but trying to figure out the exacts on many of the things that Rick did carry is very difficult. The frits is the next thing I am working on...to say the least of finding the color smalts source!

I do have abalone being shipped in to see if it will work as a substitute for what Rick was selling!

I sure hope the store issue is resolved soon!

Thanks to you Mike also...great job!

Robert,

Hi Raymond,
To be more specific, the list of supplies is at:
http://www.goldenstudios.com/esoteric.htm

Chris,
Pete and Marj at Canadian SignCrafters Supply bought a lot of their gold related supplies from Esoteric, so unless someone locates more sources, once their supply of smalts is sold off, they will be out, too.

Hope the list helps. I have a few more items to add to the list, so you might check on it.

Also, I spoke with Lola today. She says "Thanks" for all the cards and letters, but feels bad she hasn't had time to reply to all of them.

Mike Jackson

Hi folks as some of you have said Pete & I were Rick's Canadian distributors, I have all the frit/smalts Greens, Blues, Reds, and any other colours you may need, Rick gave us the source years ago, sorry guys I thought you knew that, I can give you all the colour codes if you want, or I can ship it to you within the United States for the same price as Rick and Lola where, as Rick taught us you must be very careful about which frit you purchase because we are using it in its true form, when you blow glass and that is usually what frit is used for it changes colour, so Rick chose a pallete of colours that had clarity in their true form. On the Olympic site if you look at the handle at the top of the ball you will get a truer colour match, when picking an new colour for a client we alway try to get in a sample first just to be sure we have what we are looking for. I think we have a very good colour selection for signage now though.
I am in great need for Rick's the "Finest Gold Back up there ever was" I think we should change the name, "just kidding" both Ochre and Black, I think I have found his famous what I called up here Glawson's Black Smalt, have it by the Lb. and have got a line on chipping glue thanks to Norm Dobbins can anyone help with Ricks powdered silver strip. If anyone needs it I have a very good quality Ashphaltum.
Still on the Gelatin Sheets and Abolone Sheets, Damar and many many more Things.
For Chris, your sample should be on your doorstep anytime, enjoy!
Thanks Marj Payne
