Thanks to Jim for getting samples out. I got my print/cut sample today & it looks great. Kudos to Bob R. again for such a nice design & for it selection for these samples.

I should go find that old thread, but was there talk of side by side comparison with the edge? I can say from looking at the sample & knowing what I produce on the edge, that it is not inferior. I don't have that file so I can not yet say if it is superior. It is BIGGER though. (Actually after the cutting, no single element happens to be beyong the scope of the Edge, though it could have been)

One small critique...whoever set up the cuts has shown that a good registration & slight bleed can be achieved, but in their haste several areas that should have been cut were overlooked. More operator error one would guess, but out of curiosity, does the Summa run with software specific to that machine like the Edge does? If so does that software have tools for generating a cutline on a rastor image?

One last thought, now that I have this & several others should also by now could a little more info be provided on this job? It appears to be printed as process colors. Is it from a rastor image? If so what resolution? If not, are spot colors used? halftones of spots maybe? Fill us in.

I got mine in a couple of weeks ago. The prints came out great. Now if someone can hook me up with the cash to buy one I'd be in luck.

Hiya Doug,
I'm sure you'll get a better answer from someone else but to the best of my knowledge, the dc is a process color printer with gold & silver spot colors.
Tony, sub out your work to Brian until you can afford your own [Smile]

Havin' fun,
Checkers

Doug, Have you checked out the Maxx2??? I got one on a trial basis and tried to confuse, trick and kill it. Needless to say it worked flawlessly and I wound up purchasing it. Also FYI the Edge is no longer software specific. It can be driven from Signlab (better than Omega, actually improves printed image) and I think Flexi can run it now.
