I don't want to call until someone here tells me it's ok.

I have a sign I'll be doing as soon as I get a break and I wanted to try smalts. I wanted to get the sample pack they have so I can check and decide on colors. It's not like I need it tomorrow, but I wanted to get an idea when it would be ok to call.

Is Esoteric up and running? If not, does anyone have any idea when/if it will be?

We're not allowed to ask questions about Esoteric.

For the time being Esoteric is closed awaiting the outcome of what might be found in Rick's safe or the procedures of probate. In either case, it will probably be a long time. I would suggest that you find another source.

Sorry Chuck, I didn't get the word. Besides, I wasn't asking a question - I was answering one. So, I guess that makes me legal.

Chris.......
I think Esoteric is in probate right now....and untill that gets cleared up we'll all just have to wait and see.........

There's some folks that are staying on top of things, and when they know something, I'm sure we will be some of the first to find out...!!

Chuck....That was a really dumb comment......what was the point in that..??

EDIT........ I guess we were posting at the same time ...eh , Ray ?? [Smile] So how ya doin anywayz.....??

C.J. - this question was raised a week ago and the queries were deleted. I can't speak for him, but maybe that's what Chuck was referring to.

Chris,

You can use Black Beauty blasting media in lieu of black smalts.

Thanks for the info to those who gave it instead of smart a** comments. I was just wondering if it was open, I don't really know how Esoteric was set up, so if you're upset that I inquired, tough.

I want to use reds and blues so black beauty isn't going to work. Too bad there ins't a red beauty or blue beauty [Smile]

I contacted Canadian sign supply and Marj is a sweetie. She's helped a lot already.

Chris

I believe many folks are having a tough time getting used to the idea that Rick & his unbelievable knowlege are gone. It is hard to believe.

And many like you are scrambling to find alternate sources for needed supplies.

It is going to be a hard go.

But folks are working together to find solutions.

There may be some answers for you here at this alternate forum or folks who can answer your questions.

I have a pound each of Cobalt Blue, Navy Blue, and Violet-Red if that would help. It won't cover a large area, but if you are interested, give me a call or drop me an e-mail.

Hello,
To be more specific, the page that I have been building all day is at:

http://www.goldenstudios.com/esoteric.htm

This page has a list of some of the hard to find items people seem to be asking about. Some of the people on the list are sponsors on this site and some are just obscure sources. If and when Lola or someone else reopens Esoteric Sign Supply, I will remove the chart, but for now, the chart might really help you out. The page linked above is a remnant page from one I did for Rick long before he had his own site. It had found its way into some of the search engines and I was getting calls wanting to buy some of these supplies. Once I figured out how they were associating my name and site with Rick's, I figured I should try to help out.

Hope it helps,
Mike Jackson

Thanks for the offer Raymond. I don't need the smalts right now, it's for a sign I'm donating, I just wanted to play with smalts and had planned on calling Rick the day he passed. Marj at Canadian Sign Supply is sending me the sample pack so I can check out the colors. I just wanted to know if smalts would be available when I get to this sign or if I needed to come up with an alternate idea. I didn't want to plan on using smalts, then not be able to find them.
