All clears are diffrent. Just follow the directions on the clear. Only use the products that are made for the clear. You also my want to try a spare part before you clear your bike. Make sure you practice on something round if you get a good shine and no runs go for it. You would be in better shape if you could find a body shop buddy that would be there to help you. Good luck. Randy the label of the can should have directions or more usually nowadays a pictograph of how to mix it. Helps to know what brand you're using but call the jobber you bought it from and ask them for specific directions then follow the label directions explicitly at first then make adjustments from there...don't follow anyone else's shortcuts right off the mark..may work for you or most likely may not. If the customer supplied you with this stuff and it's not labeled don't use it...alotta stuff nowadays has switched from being a 4:1:1 ratio to 4:2:1 and if you try to guess(1st number is clear,2nd hardener,3rd reducer) the hardener ratio will be wrong etc.

Does the fact that most products now have a pictograph as to how to mix act as a warning as to how toxic these are to the brain?

Hello Randy;
For sure; if you can get the info from your supplier or better yet, a photocopy of the product tech sheet. That would give you all the info as far as mix ratio, sugested number of coats, flash times between coats and final dry times.
If you want to email me the info on what you are using, perhaps I can help you out if it is a product line that I'm familiar with.
