Hi, I'm going to need to ship several sets of magnetic signs to various locations, there will be two signs per box, I was thinking of leaving the pre-mask tape on the signs to prevent any scratches from the signs rubbing on one another in shipment? Do you think this will work or is removing the pre-mask tape beyond the capabilities of the average customer? The signs are 10" x 20", I plan to roll them and ship in the box my 15" vinyl comes in.

I've found that a cut down piece of release liner between the mags and around the outside makes an excellent protective layer in this situation .... and they don't confuse anyone either.

Use something else to protect the faces, your customers won't know what to do in the event the premask pulls the vinyl up, ruining their signs.

I quite agree that leaving the premask on is likely to create problems of "who's fault is it?"
We forget about that we are pros, even in the little things that seem so simple...
I would roll them, graphics out, inside a core from 15 " vinyl. First I would spray a few drops of WD 40 and wipe each down, gently, and insert a piece of waxy paper. Wonder where we could find a lot of that Looks good, smells clean, and makes them slide on top of each other. And don't forget to include a sheet of instructions on how to prepare the vehicle, take care of them and the surface in the future, and so forth. (on that same piece or paper I have my logo, a few sentences of gratitude for the business, and then a small list of what else I do)

We slip a sheet of newsprint between most everything (cheap un-printed newspaper) ... or paper towel ... a magnet on a magnet isn't going to "slip" easy

Remove the transfer tape, and use the release liner from the vinyl used on the magnet. Slick finish, right size, and one less thing to throw in your trash can.

I would add just one more thing. I would never ship mags rolled up! My experiance says that the magnetic material will take the curve of the roll and as we all know the key to keeping magnetics on a vehicle is having it lay perfectly flat. I would make sure that I ship them flat. Just my two cents for what it's worth.
