Hello, Having problem after I applied Coburn multi lens vinyl (Fluor. Yellow)to a racecar for it's Numbers. it has developed small bubbles under the vinyl, Lots of them! Seems to get worse the longer it sits?

The car was painted 6 days ago , I'm Thinking it could be the paint curing under the vinyl effecting the adhesive?

The vinyl is not old ,all the other vinyl applied on the car hasn't been effected? Have applied a lot of coburn vinyl haven't come across this problem before?

Looking for some advice! Thanxs Todd

The paint not being cured yet is probaly the cause. Isn't the coburn stuff really a polyester film and not vinyl? Is the stuff that is not bubbling a vinyl or polyester film?

Todd...I am not familiar with the product line you are using but I can say that I have, on MANY occasions, applied 2 mil cast vinyl to vehicles and boats that were painted only the evening before. The pre-mask left an imprint on the paint, it was so green. (the imprint flows out in 15 minutes) Never had a problem with bubbling or lifting, since cast vinyl breathes and any gasses will pass through the vinyl just like the air that is trapped in "tiny bubbles" in the vinyl.

I just put Colburn silver multi-lense on a race car, too. I am also having problems with bubbles. It was kinda chilly when I applied it. Also I have a premium black vinyl shade & outline that the multi-lense in applied over, & there are no bubbles in it.
I tries heating the multi-lense with a torch but it only made the stuff wrinkle and didn't help.
The only thing I can do is repalce it which I have scheduled for next Tuesday. Anybody know the secret to this Colburn problem?
Thanks,
Judy
