Hi,all. Just a note to share a sorrowful thing that happened to Jill. While attending an auction in Butler on Saturday night, her truck was broke into. They stole her sign-painting kit.It contained everything she needs for the job. all her brushes, exacto knives, moll stick, paints, tools, a camera, and 2 pair of glasses were in that tiny kit. Doesn't seem like much ,huh? not to someone who isn't a signpainter... you all know the years of work obtaining the tools, not even considering the expense it takes. Getting a brush to just the right angle, and feel to do a good job, takes forever. Jill is heartsick, plus out all her things.People need to respect other people's property. That little gal gives 100% of herself to every job she does, and she hustles 7 days a week. She is in Mars today finishing a fire truck she started yesterday. That's why the darn kit once in the truck in the first place!Wish people would learn.
the sad sis,fiddles. [Frown]

What a bummer, don't you hate thievery? Sorry to hear about your loss; as some of my sign stuff was destroyed during moving to Illinois, you get attached to it, right?

I hope you get started again okay, maybe someone will use the stuff, otherwise, why would they want it? jiminy cricket!

I was just thinking of Jill, when is she going to Ireland? Been doing a bit of research on my relatives in Ireland and Scotland. tell Jill I said to Take care
(btw, you are a nice sis to speak so well about Jill!)

Thanks you two.Mark, I know Jill will appreciate that. She has a couple nice jobs coming up. She will have to scramble to get in gear again.Deb, Jill is going to Ireland in August. She is so excited. She will be meeting up with Catherine, and then after the meet, returning home . She and Catherine will be flying back to go to Pierre's meet in Quebec.I get to stay home and babysit...oh, well. I hope she brings me home a leprechaun. It will match my shamrock tatoo. That sucks the big wazoo. I had a sign kit stolen once. Took years to replace what I had. It is a painful experience. I wish you the best.

Dear Fiddles, I was sorry to read of Jill's loss.
I as yet, have never had any of my gear stolen, but I know how she must feel, some of my stuff is over 50 years old and irreplacable, I too would be devastated. I wish I was a little closer so that I could do something for my little mate.

i bought a stolen sign kit when i was in sarasota...had an idea who it belonged to before i bought it. i had talked to this other sign person couple times and ran into him at a 4th july fireworks. he was tellin me his house got broke into, they killed his dog stole the kit and bunch of other stuff. he ran with a tough crowd of bikers and drugers.
about a year later i had this slez i know call me up and tell me he got a deal for me. i went and looked, yep sign kit. the guy said the guy got tight on money...(B.S.) because with this kit you can make $100...with it. i bought it....told slez bag..."heres a news flash for ya, i been arrested before for buying stolen property, and YOU aint worth me doin any jail time. if the cops come asking where i got these.....i got your name, phone no and address....and wont hesitate to help them out!!!!"
couple years went by, the sign painter that lost this stuff i tried to find him, found his ex wife...talked to here she said he split for parts unknow. i left it alone. couple years later i bump into the guy....he tells me all the stuff he went thru in the last couple years.
i told him i got a suprise for him, i think....took him to my house opened up my paint kit with most of his brushes still in there....told him take what he thought was his....he had marked most of his brushes with a 417. you shoulda seen this guys eyes light up.
i let him take what i had left of his stuff.
he offered me the $100 i spent, told him nope...told him, "heres the phone #, name and address of the guy i got em from.....but you didnt get this from me...ok?"
dont know the outcome of that...but did all i could.
the problem with a sign kit...its only of value to a SIGN PAINTER, and only a SIGN PAINTER will buy it!!!!! theives are so stupid!!!!!!! even the pawn shops wont touch a sign kit!!!!

Don't tell Jill but there's a little care package my UPS man will be picking up tomorrow. She should get it Tuesday.

I read this earlier and threw a fee things together I figure she can use. If I didn't have things promised for today & tomorrow, it would be hand delivered to her. If there is anything else I can help with (or if she just wants to bitch), tell her to give me a yell.

Hi Heads...
At least when something like this happens, you learn just how many folks care. And it's not like anybody is sick, or worse. It just sucks! (I'm glad I took my tampons out of the kit- that would have been embarrassing!)
My insurance will cover the theft 100%, so that's lucky. Some things can never be replaced, of course. I bought 6 new brushes from N. Glantz yesterday, and I'll have to paint like a fool to wear them in by Friday's job. I will miss my old sticky brushes.
Thanks to Mark, CJ, Catherine,& Pierre for their calls & offers of help, to Fiddles for posting (sorry about calling you the village idiot of Letterville!)and to dear Kissymatina. I just got the box this morning. I think you have ESP, girl! The box you sent was just like mine!(except for the "find the clitoris" sticker)I need everything you sent! I wish I could find a Dionne Warwicke mask & costume. I'd drive up to Indiana & sing "that's what friends are for"!
So to everybody, thanks a mil. I guess I won't get that Wal-Mart greeter job after all.
Love- JILL
and to the creeps who stole my stuff...I hope you put on my glasses & stumble blindly into the boxes, in which the X-Actos, mahl stick, & sticky paint brushes are waiting to impale you!

And just to clairfy... the box I sent Jill DID NOT have that sticker on it. She must've had that on her stolen box.

Yup, Got it at the tattoo shop, and only just put it on the box. See what I get for being a smartass?
Love- JILL

your warmth and generosity is still arriving at jillbeans door. her art box runneth over. thanks keith from nj,for the striping tape. jill has been so busy with some really nice jobs.she was so inspired by your responses to her needs. sometimes, it is all it takes to pick yourself up and start the day over. just when she feels down and out, something nice happens. this is a wonderful, supportive, talented bunch of people. i am so proud of my little sis, and so glad you people made her feel good about her talents. she is becoming a force to be reckoned with. thank you so much... fiddles.
