I have to show you all this panel I just received from Steve Purcell as part of the panel swap!!
Creative writing was never one of my strong suites, so I wont try to use words to describe this piece of work. These pictures should speak volumes….
Needless to say, I was speechless upon opening the crate it was shipped in. Speechless…
I called Steve immediately after regaining my senses, introduced myself and had a great conversation regarding this panel and carving in general. I will look forward to meeting him. Hopefully at Mass Mayham or even sooner.
This panel will become the centerpiece of my office wall where I hang items that I am proud of. Maybe it was fate that Steve drew my name in the panel swap. Carving this type of work is my biggest aspiration at this point in my life. And this panel will serve as inspiration to me to continue to put in my practice at carving.
Hopefully Steve can give us a little background on this project.

Ps The pictures don't do this panel justice. I will replace them with clearer ones this weekend.

My jaw dropped when I first saw it as well. It just might be my favourite out of all of them. I too am very interested in carving so this one is really special to me.
I have a nice clear picture that Steve sent me and will post it tonite with the rest of them.
