Just did a banner using Avery Red and some old Calon green that was lying around from when we bought this business. The red letters fell off the banner the first couple of days it was up and the green is still on. What goes?

What color in particular? I use Avery pretty much exclusively. I havn't had a failure but have had some A8 Fire Red seem to not stick so well, hope it doesn't fall off too!

Maybe it was a baaad batch. Hope so, I like the Avery.

What type of banner material? I have problems with regency banners by McCullough if I don't use Gerber vinyl.

You know Sharon ..... I have had that problem too. I used Avery black.

We have seen several rolls of defective Avery in the past year. It appeared to be thin or missing adhesive at the end of the roll.

When I told my vendor I was going to start ordering a different type of vinyl he was supprised and claimed no one else saw these problems.

VINYL HAS A 'SHELF LIFE'....HUMIDITY PROBLEMS WHILE ON THE SHELF CAN ALSO CAUSE YOUR PROBLEM.
DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD THE VINYL WAS WHEN YOU FIRST BOUGHT IT? ALSO, OLD CALENDERED VINYL DOESN'T HOLD UP AS WELL AS CAST (ON THE SHELF).

Hi Sharon,

I am the Technical Manager for Avery Dennison. I just started watching this sight and came across your posting. I apologize for any problems you may have encountered using our film. I would like to investigate this more as several different factors could account for the failure. Please e-mail me back as I would like to clear up the problem.

Anyone else who has had problems should also let me know.

Thanks,

Tim
