***After reading Don's post(below) I took the time to try out some more of the clip art offered at the link below and found I had problems unstuffing the files, never mind using them in my layouts!? If anyone has any better luck at using the very nice looking artwork, let us know...

I got this link from "Chuck Green's Design Links Briefing--January 2003" a newsletter from Ideabook.com (link below) The Briar Press site has a LOT of beautiful printers metal type ornaments available. See samples below:

Ideabook.com - a great site with lots of design tips and info(focused primarily on printing, but can be applied to signs also)

If you check the images out up closer and in wireframe mode, you'll notice that this stuff is very sloppy. It looks great small and in preview mode. Looks like it was just ran through Streamline or the like and sent on it's way as finished vector art.
That doesn't mean it's not a great deal for the price. LOL

Here's one I pulled off that site. I'll put it up here to illustrate what I was referring to. The image on the left looks great...but the wireframe closeup to the right shows the shoddy workmanship. Actually, I don't think there was any workmanship, just ran through an automatic vectorizing program like Streamline. Still, free is a good price for it anyway. It's not like it's a ripoff.

Wait till you see Don's work! You will just how bad the free stuff really is.. Or maybe see how good his stuff really is..

I personally saw what he is doing. I wish I had a sample to show. Its that good. I asked for one but he said he did not have one ready.

His work is flawless.

It was a nice thought to share anyway. I checked it out and doesn't look like that big of a deal to clean it up.
