Hello All, First off, thanks for having a place where ???? can be asked. My question is, I have a Summa T-750 and am using gerber Omega CP to run it, it is set in HP/GL default, the plotter woeks flawlessand have 0 problems with it. My problem is I set the pounce tool up for the first time and when I send the job it tells me to install tangential cutter, I have configured the summa to pounce and set all the seetings to my knowledge properly. I am lost now and the manual was read but I must be missing something, So, any help would be greatly appreciated,...... Thank- you in advance, Duayne

Duayne, here at Gerber when we intent to support a particular cutting device we do our bets to support the basic cutting features of the device with sometimes (most of the time) never seeing the device or having a manual available. I have never seen any info on the Summa T-750 around here so my guess we assumed standard HP/GL commands which does not cover "pounce" tools.
If now one else has any advice I'd like to try this. If you have a "programmer's manual" for the device, this would be a manual that explains the commands that can be sent to the device I would gladly look into this if you could fax me any pages dealing with "pounce". It may be defined in the "tool selection" section , etc . I will look from my end at the Summa site fro info. My fax number is 860-648-8214.

Duayne... The pounce feature is normally firmware invoked from the plotter itself...that is, there'll be no special command set to "drive" the pouncing. If you have the ability to tell the machine what tool you're using...pen, different blades, etc., you'll probably find pounce there too. You should be able to control the hole diameter and spacing, and there should always be a hole at the intersections of vectors. hk

If you're still having problems pouncing, I've developed a technique that doesnt require a special tool.
I just assign a dashed line to the outline/s of the graphic I wish to make a pattern of, and then plot as normal.
The plotter will then cut the pattern paper in correct locations.
One downfall the this method is that the "cutter strip" can often get chewed up, if the downforce is too great.

Wow, I was somewhat looking for a quick overlooked fix here. I can perform the test that the Summa makes, and adjust dot seperation and all other adjustments, The omega software has pounce and cut, However it does ask for the tangential cutter be installed once sent from omega. Interesting post Duayne, I have the same set up as you a Summa T-750 and Omega CP, but kept my Gerber S750, and specifically for pouncing, and Sprint for Edge cutting, be interésted too to see if you find away around this.

Duayne, Howard is correct according to Summa you should be able to set everything up in the device. But, if you setup the device for pounce and the data coming from the software will override it by default. In the cutter in the menus there should be a "Tool Command" selection, you want to set this to "ignore". You can also control the pounce "gaps" etc in a menu item called "Pounce Dat" in the cutter. This is all based on info I recieved from Summa.
