I have been calling Fred's shop for days now and getting no answer...fearing the worst I called his home and I spoke with Marilyn this morning (tuesday the 17th 9:30 am) Fred came thru the stroke (described by the doctor as a "slight stroke")unscathed...he has all his physical functions and all the mental capacity he ever had.(I can say that I love the guy).
Thats the good news...the bad news is Fred and Marilyn have come down with extreme cases of the flu (the reason the shop is unmanned)and they are down for the count this week.
So if you see this... please pass the info along and try to avoid calling Fred or Marilyn...they both need the rest.
Incidently Fred ("never down for long") Self was feeling well enough to attent two Christmas parties on friday and saturday...then got hit with the flu on sunday nite.
God bless these folks they are best!

Thanks Monte. I have been calling and didn't get an answer and had the same fears. I'll just wait until they are back on their feet.
The flu bug has really hit our area big time. Some schools are closing because so many kids are home sick.
Can you post the address of the new shop? My Rolodex still has the old one. Or maybe even the home address, too - I'll send a card.

Monte, thanks for the update & for solving the mystery of no one at the shop. Glad to hear that no damage resulted from Fred's stroke!! Fred & Marilyn are some of the finest folks I have met & I hope they both have a speedy recovery from the flu!!
Raymond, the address is:
Fred's Sign Co. 522 North Classen Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK 73106
The "flu bug" hit around here around a month ago & there doesn't seem to be much that can be done about it other than ride it out. I've been down with it off & on for a couple of weeks now but have learned one thing. Pace yourself when you start to feel better because it's way too easy to work yourself right into a relapse!! No need to ask me how I know.
