I bet you were thinking about the other "S" word...

I am talking about the "S" word that leaves "White & Cold" stuff all over the place!!!!

We had our first "S-fall" here yesterday, anywhere from 1-5" in the area, we got about 4" where I am at.
This is enough, those of you who like the cold weather, seasonal changes and of course the "S-stuff" can have it back now. I am finished with it, done, finito, finished!!!!!

Bring on spring!!!! I would love only two seasons, Spring and Summer, then start over.

By this time you may be saying to yourself, "self (that's what I call my self), why don't he just move to a different part of the country that is more to his liking". Well self, I will tell you....

we live our snowy winters through you northerners' eyes, so enjoy.

It's Christmastime! snow is good. Will trade our rain for your snow for a few days. [Wink]
I love having different seasons. Don't think I could live where it is the same all the time. However our rain does get old by April!

Hey Cheryl,

We got some of your rain too, but I would rather you had kept it. We had about 5" of snow on the ground, when the freezing rain started. 2" of ice on top of snow, followed by another 3" of snow last night. Not as bad as a lot of people got, but it's pretty nasty. I like the snow, but could do without the rain this time of year.

Okay, all of you who are in cold, snowy weather will probably throw snowballs at me but I'm gonna say it anyway. I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF IT BEING BRIGHT AND SUNNY ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

I'm not kidding. It's December and it's going to be 75º and sunny today. YES, that is a good thing but like Cheryl said, I need a change once in a while.

It's only rained 4 times since we moved here 18 months ago and when I say rain I mean for maybe 20 minutes tops. And two of those were this month. It's gettin' old people.

As for why I don't move? I'm working on it!

So for all of you in the snow, stay safe & warm and enjoy some for me.

Cheryl

We have seasons here.

We have hurricane season (which coincides with rainy season), tourist season and the holiday season.

Hurricane season isn't bad if ya don't see a hurricane. Thunder storms every day for an hour, other than that hot and sunny. The storms are a real treat after all the heat and humidity! Tourist season is the best, 'cept for all the tourists. Perfect weather almost every day for months on end! And the holiday season is chilly and festive. Can you think of anything more Christmasy than palm trees with lights? [Roll Eyes]

Hey Troy,

My son has been praying for snow for a month now. We have an old '74 john deere skidoo that he's just itching to ride. We've got a bit of snow, but not enough for skidooing. I like the winter, but I hate having to run outside to start the vehicle so it can warm up.

My favorite seasons are spring and fall. There is nothing more beautiful than the leave turning color in the fall. Then winter comes, and just when you think you can't stand it anymore, the snow melts and miracles happen. The grass turns green, trees leaf out almost overnight, and brand new plants push their way out of the ground. I love it!

Winter gives everything a rest, rejuvinates it, washes it off and then it all starts over again.

(and of course, with winter comes hockey!) [Wink]

Suelynn

Did someone say HOCKEY!

Hey I heard the "H" word.... My Canucks are doing great, we'll just see if they can keep it up. As for snow, we don't have any yet. Usually we get snow the beginning of Nov., but not even so much as a dusting yet. It is cold enough for he white stuff, but I guess we have lucked out so far. When it does finnally get cold up here we will see -40 on a regular basis, not counting the wind chill... so be happy with your sun and tourists.

Mike, I think I heard them say Blackhawks! Lol.
I remember going to the hockey games in Chicago years ago. I love hockey, (but don't skate that fast! Just watch and root! Hope we can muster up some cashflow to take my son and nephew this year or buy some tickets off season ticket holders.) And, the Blue Jackets (the new pro team in Columbus) are picking up some steam this year too. I had a blast going there and the restaurant adjacent was awesome. Yum, Yum!

We got about five inches of it yesterday. Kept me from getting to work. My little ranger wont go too good in snow, specially this stuff. It was slippery! Rained some last night and got it all mushy, but the roads were clear today. We didnt get the freezing rain like Don and others got. Up to a million people are without power from this storm system due to freezing rain and sleet.
Ill take the snow. [Smile]

I dont think we did it 15 timws through the whole winter last year. I br they will be sick of seeing us befor the first of the year this season.

Ahh you Mass guys are just being true yankees, if we dont complain about everything people might just think us new englanders are becoming nice or something.

But on another note....... It's nice to have the snow, it makes winter worth it for me.

3-4" of snow is just the primer coat lay it on us!!!!!!

Mark, you are a sick, sick boy.

We got close to 8" of that $&!@(#) at my house yesterday. Got home last night and had snow 1/2 way up my shins before I got in the house. Very unpleasant. My boots were soaked through, jeans were soaked, socks.

Only good part of it is laughing at the dog when he goes outside and gets buried in it or has to jump from one spot to the next cause his short little legs won't walk through that much snow.

At least my step-son was nice enough to come over last night and get out the 4 wheeler to plow the driveway. My husband thought ahead and put the plow on before he went back to KY Tuesday, but didn't think to bring down a shovel from the shed at the other side of property.

Gotta love the snow, we got about 7 inches. Saying some prayers for you folks with the ice. No better day than taking out the 4x4 ATV with the kids and coming home to watch some hockey and paint.

Can we get a game of Shirts against Skins pond hockey? haha. If we can't swim might as well ice skate.

LET'S GO RANGERS! Going to the Garden tonight to see NYR vs. Buffalo. $6 a beer, hope it's a good one. That 19 yr old kid Blackburn is a heck of a goalie. As for the Boxing comment, pretty funny, but we call it frontier justice. Any Sabre fans in the audiance?

It is going to be a weird winter, folks.
El Nino year. Alaska is still waiting for snow and it's been the warmest on record up there. Snow isn't so bad, how about them ICE storms, now that's bad. The leaves were still on the trees making the ice even heavier.

Glad to be in Florida, until April anyway, then it's a steam bath until November.

Happy holidays and snuggle up.

Suelynn, you MUST get an automatic starter for your vehicle! They are so awesome! I purchased mine for ME on mother's day one year and I'm in love with this thing. While at the breakfast table, push a button and your vehicle does all the work. No boots nor coats required. [Smile] Always always ALWAYS a warm truck. Ahhhhh....

As for snow, it's normally a miracle to get any before Christmas in our area, but I have to be careful when wishing it upon our area as Dan Sawatsky lives nearby and gets after me for it. (He'd get hit harder than us) Sorry Dan, I'm so ready. LET IT SNOW!

Posted by Kissymatina (Member # 2028) on :

Donna has it right. I had a remote starter in my truck. My husband was trying to talk me into a new Durango. He took my truck to get serviced, came home with a new Durango for me to "see if I like it". I called the next day for the appointment to get the starter put in and had a fit that they were booked for a whole week.
