This is Cheryl Lucas and me makin this post....

Since John Smith isn't havin his Spring Fling, anybody interested in a meet on the gulf coast of Florida, in April?

We have sandblasting facilities and a wood working shop as well as room for setting up easels for the painters.

A Bar-B-Que is definately in order!

Ideally, we would like to attract folks from all aspects our sign craft.

The weather is beautiful here in April. Also, it's not out of the question that we take a sail along the Caloosahatchee river.

Although it's still a bit early for me to commit I would definitely be interested in attending my first meet in FL in April. It would be good to finally get a live meet and out of Jackson in April. I do a lot of sandblasting and I would love to check out your set up. I'll keep you posted. Steve

Don...I would definitely go for that one...it will be my first meet, and I can't wait to get to one and meet everyone. Might even be able to drag along a few others in this area since it's so close (relatively speaking). Let me know if there's anything I can do to help....

Okay,

We were leaning toward the last week in April, and however that coincided with the FULL MOON...

Well, just looked up a 2003 calendar and the FULL MOON [Eek!] [Eek!] [Eek!] will be shining bright on May 1st.

Dates are:

Friday thru Sunday, April 25th-27th

There's plenty of space for camping and hopefully a my friends will bring their motor homes or provide host sleeping rooms, where some of us can bed down for the weekend. We're looking into getting group discounts at nearby hotels.

The shop is located just off of I-75 in Southwest Florida, here's the address in case ya wanna get a looksee on Mapquest (or something);

3802 Hanson Street
Fort Myers, FL 33916

We are most interested in providing everyone who attends, with an insight of dimensional signs; depth, layers, illlusions, etc.

We can not hold this meet without those of you who paint, whether it be with 'air' or 'hair'! We have plenty of wall space on the front of our shop for a mural or two, one of which could be the Letterville logo. Anyone interested in helping with the design should contact Don Coplen, dcoplen@mindspring.com

It is in my dream that we will see gold leaf, glass etching, glue chipping, carving, smaltz and anything else within 'Keeping our Craft'.

No standing around at this meet! We're hoping to aquire enough HDU and sandblast resist sponsorship, to provide everyone with a sandblasted panel, we'll do a workshop, from start to finish. Everyone walks away with a shop sample!

What would you like to see happen at this meet?

I'm excited at this point, thanks to all who have suggested a commitment. I guarentee you, this will be one Letterhead meet you'll never forget!

more details to follow,
Cher.

***this post has been edited to reflect a change in dates.... Previously I had posted May 2nd-4th.***

Tim has a wealth of knowledge about sandblasting and is a key player in this event. Sooooooo,

We will host our Letterhead meet

April 25th-27th...Friday-Sunday
The last weekend in April...
