Heads

I am breaking out and setting up to do some serious airbrush learning and I wanted to see if y'all could help me on a good paint for glass.

I am interested in fading and leafing over the fade!

I figured Createx would be the best but would like y'alls opinion...PLEASE!

I am using the iwata eclipse

Thanks in Advance!

That one's easy! If you are using an airbrush, you probably already have areas masked off or protected. If so, just apply a coat of clear varnish over the entire section (not so heavy that it tries to sag). While the varnish is still wet or tacky, airbrush away with almost any oil based paint you want--thinned with the appropriate thinner, or mixed with clear varnish. Use transparent colors for the best effects if you are going to leaf behind it after it dries.

Well
Not knowing the full Design and Application.
Are you doing the first or second Surface Graphics?
Next How long do you want this to last?

Small panel work or Large?

You want to get serious then lets!

Not having very much experience with an airbrush, just let me say that I would be thinking in terms of spraying Lacryl or Gripflex onto the glass. I know they're made for plastics, but having used TONS of the stuff, it seems to me like they would spray well, dry fast, and make a beautiful fade under the gold leaf. The Lacryl is especially transparent. It's pretty tough paint, and they also make a clear.

Well, that's my approach to the subject...good luck with whatever you use...

Wow

I got info I never considered.. [Smile]
Thanks

No, I am just trying out some new techniques and incorporating it in with gold leaf work...

It would all be second surface...large and small, with some hand painted detail thrown in.

I am just trying to get better at a few things so that when I go to Esoteric in the spring, I will have all kinds of questions to ask!

and I am developing an old process called verre eglomise. It has some neat applications...so I hope to get comfortable enough to be dangerous!

Thanks again guys!
