An old habit is coming back to me since I've started picking up a pencil more for drawing layouts and my attempts at carving. As soon as I get deep in concentration, out comes my tongue! Just a little bit but it is beyond my control. My Mom used to tease me about it when I was younger. I guess it shows how easy it is to design on the computer. I can't imagine the tongue coming out while designing in Corel Draw!

I really enjoy doing things by hand and hope I see more and more of that tongue. Especially after reading John Lennings post about ditching his computers. [Smile]

Anyone else? [Razz] [Razz]

My dad used to do that sometimes when he was driving. My wife says I am starting to make some wierd faces that I'm not aware of, but I haven't listened well enough to hear just exactly what she says I do.

Nothing can compare to the face of a lead guitar player though.

Terry,

This brings me back to fond memories of a dear friend of mine. His tounge creeped out at times as simple as signing his name. I was too embarassed to say anything to him about it, and after a while, it was just darn cute. [Razz]

I've always wondered, why does this happen?

Cher.

My brother in law starts to drool when he really gets into something, we used to make channel letters, and when he was getting into a good groove with the jig saw, he'd start drooling, man that was funny.

I often stick out my tongue at the things I draw - and much worse.
Magic incantations sometimes accompany.

Yep I do it too.

When I'm deep into something.. and it doesnt even matter what it is.. drawing, writing, carving plugs for fiberglass parts, welding, grinding and fabricating metal parts, or just sitting back in the chair deep in thought about something..

It's usually cocked to one side of my mouth..

and when deep thought turns into frustration or boredom, the tongue is all ready for blowing raspberries (thpbthpb!!) =-P'''

I catch myself biting the inside of my cheeks! Weird huh?? My husband is always chewing his tongue when he does anything requiring concentration. Sometimes if he is at it too long his tongue hurts all night.

Whew, good! I'm not the only weirdo around here! hahaha

I also bite the inside of my cheeks. The last time I was at the dentist the hygienist stopped and started looking at something with great interest. She was looking and looking then finally asked if I had been biting my cheek. She was totally baffled like she had never heard of anyone doing this before. I thought everyone did! My wife does it too.

There used to be a joke around one of the shops I subbed in,and I'm not so sure it wasn't aimed at me and or another painter but whenever a mistake was made someone would often joke that the person was not "holding their tongue right".

Hahahaha Terry you make me smile. I do the tongue thing every so often when I am in deep thought. I have also been known to drool. And I also point my toes straight up when sitting with my legs crossed. Yeah...I am weird too. Ahh well...do you really want to be 'normal'. [Smile]

Yup, when concentrating on something I stick out my tongue and sometimes bite my tongue and cheeks but, so far, I drool only when I sleep.

In grade one they took pictures of us in class.
One from the front ,one from the side writing.
I later guessed everyone was just pretending to write, but not me.I was all concentrated, and the photographer took the picture with me sticking out my tongue. I was embarassed for years by that picture, and all the adults thought it was soooo cute. I bet my mom still has it.
I hope I'm not doing it anymore, not 100% sure though...
