My 4 year old Anagraph 30" plotter is in need of some serious service. I was not happy with sending it back to the company when it was under warranty and would like to find someone preferably in the northeast to do what needs to be done. I am about to buy a backup plotter, and it will not be Anagraph. I have been looking at Vinyl Express. I am very happy with the software I bought from them years ago. Any pros or cons on this one?

I normally don't plug a vendor unless they are good...but sign warehouse has really come around this past year in customer service...to say the least of their generosity on the auction items...
therefore....I will have to say I have had a 30 vinyl express cutter for about 2 years now and it has been great...no problems at all!

I wouldn't buy a vinyl express cutter of any kind. Some have good luck with them, but a lot of others are dissapointed.

I have an AE-70 thats seven years old and still runs and a newer AE-101 about three years old and running well.
I know they stopped servicing the older AE plotters but the newer ones they will still service.
Anagraph was bought out but the new company says they will still repair Ana plotters.
My experience has been that they all *insert company name* could stand to improve on customer satisfaction after the sale. No one company is better than any other. I've been s$%^&$ed by them all.

Perhaps my message was not clear. I will keep the Anagraph AE 75E. I am looking for someone other than the factory to tweek it. I do not like to be talked down to in any form, especially when I had just purchased a new machine and the service department told me there was nothing wrong and that they could do nothing. I sent the machine back, and lo and behold, it worked when it came back, three weeks later. I cannot afford to be without a source of income for three more weeks so I will purchase a smaller slower machine as a backup. My Anagraph needs service more than I can provide. I had to replace roller and a few other parts, but it does not track right and has other problems. Sometimes it just seems to have a mind of its own. That is why I posted to this board. I am sure I am not alone in this dealing with Anagraph. The others may be just as bad, but I have yet to find that out. I have found how bad Anagraph was. The machine itself is OK when it runs. Thanks for your help.

I had a power surge take out the main board in my AE-120. After talking to the factory tech rep and getting cost for shipping and labor at the factory, I just bought the board and installed it myself.
What exactly is the problem with your tracking? What material are you cutting? You may be able to resolve the problem on your own with some careful analysis of the problem.
I've found the easiest way to get help from Ana is to go to the technical support form at http://anagraph.com/ and fill it out describing the problem.

most ppl i know having tracking problems with an ANAgraph is they are using the rulers on the platten.
They are not accurate. I have two fine lines drawn on my platten. They are drawn after i spent a few minutes getting the tracking perfect. Then I use the edge of the vinyl as a straight edge and draw a very fine line for 24" and one for 15" material onto the platten. Now i can line up the vinyl perfectly every time. Tracks great now...

The darned thing will not track correctly. I changed the rollers and it did nothing. Sometimes it ends the plot wherever it seems to feel like it. I have ruined a lot of vinyl lately as well as lots of our time. I had such a bad experience when the p[otter was new that I am uneasy going back to them for anything.We could probably fix the darn thing ourselves but there is not much info available.. I thought I could get some advice here as to aftermarket service. There are plenty of people to do Gerber and Roland. Perhaps that is why they are so popular.
