I needed a font I didn't have, so I went and bought one from Fonts.com, downloaded it and unzipped it and everything. Now I can't figure out how to use it with Corel Draw. I know this is stupid question but what am I missing? How do I access this font? Posted by old paint (Member # 549) on :
joann...your font should be unzipped, if not you nedd to run win zip on it and then all you do is open control panel, then fonts, then file, then install font....and tell it to go to where the font is.

If it got installed into your font folder, than maybe you have too many fonts there for them to show up in Corel. I run Win 98 on one computer and have about 600 fonts installed but can't access them all through Corel. I am told that Win.XP can handle about 1000.

Go to control panel, fonts, install new font, pick the folder you downloaded the font to (make sure it was unzipped if it was to start with. It will search for font, then you install it. Thru Corel, if your font was installed properly, you should be able to access it.

Before you try to install it, if its a truetype font you may be able to use it without 1st installing. Double-click on the font & the font preview window will open showing a sample of the font. Minimize it to the task bar. The font is now usable. But this MUST be done before you start Corel. In Corel, the font should show up in list. Just remember that its not installed & when you close down, or even close the minimized font previewer, it will be gone; & must be re-opened as described above to continue using.
If this is a one-time deal then that might be the way to go. This is a way to bypass the "too many fonts" syndrome.
