Please tell me how to tell my customers the meaning of a vector file! I am really frustrated with these bitmaps they are converting into .eps files. I feel like a broken record saying the same thing over and over again that I need lines and curves, not stair steps. I wish I had a good explanation in writing that I could fax to my clients. I don't seem to be able to communicate verbally.

Try talking programs with them. Most non-graphics people will "design" something in Photoshop or similar paint program. I explain to them that the design has to have originated from a program such as Corel Draw or Illustrator.

I usually end up with bland looks also when I try to explain the difference between line drawings consisting of connecting "nodes" and bitmaps made up of millions of pixels.

Just one of those things we have to deal with I guess. [Frown]

I don't have any great answer for you because I run into the same trouble. I often ask if they can turn off the "preview" to see the "wireframe" but they usually don't understand that anyway.
When you said you are "frustrated with these bitmaps..." I thought that instead of nitwits, wingnuts or numbskulls, these people should be call "bitmaps" (behind their back of course)

Sorta has a nice ring to it said in the right dry, sarcastic & venomous tone!
