Hi Guys, Rhonda and I are sitting here going over our brochures and stuff trying to figure out where we're going to go while we're in your country. we are going to spend a week in Sydney and then we planned on heading south towards Melbourne and Adelaide, we where talking about spending some time in the south and then either fly to Tasmania or back up north to Queensland. my question is What kind of cost would these flights be on average ( Ozzie $$ ) we have some deffinite plans on places to see like kangaroo island and maybe an opal mine. any suggestions would be appreciated! thanks! Hi Mike, I'm not sure if I can help you with your question but it is costing me $AUD300 return flight from Maroochydore (where I live north of Brisbane) to Sydney. In another 3 weeks it will be fairly warm in QLD. because at the moment our temps are in the mid F80's so bring plenty of clothes as the south still gets cool. The $Aus. is trading at about 55-56 cents US at this time so you should be able to snap up plenty of bargains. You should get good travel deals because overseas tourists are way down since Sept. 11. The other good thing in your favour is that Virgin Airlines which are new to Australia, are doing good deals which has stopped the other company fixing prices. I am looking forward to meeting you and Rhonda and Liddy and I would be delighted to have you stay and I am sure we could show you a good time as we live in a tourist area. Hiya Mike
As Dave said, come up to Queensland ... warmer and very hospitable We have a heap of Letterheads in and around Brisbane only to willing to have you as a guest. We have the best opal mines and by far the best diving! Gail and Devo in Hervey bay are minutes flight from Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef. One of the best dive sites I've ever been to.
Check out www.virginblue.com.au ... I just did and flights from Adelaide to Brisbane are $139 Oz dollars!!!!!!!!! Probably cheaper from Melbourne. It looks like $115 back from Brisbane to catch yer flight from Sydney back home .. that's if and when you do go home
See you soon Jon
