Now that I have my PC-60 back, I have a few questions I'm hoping to get answered.
I use my PC-60 with CorelDRAW 9.0. I print right from Corel.
I'm starting to get into the effects a little more for lettering, but I have a question regarding actually printing them.
In order to "play" with the effects, I have to convert the object to a bitmap. Then I play with the bitmap in CorelPaint, after which I bring it back into CorelDRAW to print.
After I get the layout and effects the way I want them, should I be exporting the whole document to a bitmap (i.e. a .tiff file) for printing?
I want to get the best print possible, and I am hoping to avoid excessive testing (money waste). It seems that gradient fills especially have a "stair-step" type of fill, rather than a smooth transition.
Can anyone give some pointers on what I can do to maximize my output?

I dont use Corel9 or any other Corel to print with, but, I'm reasonably sure there is a gradient step adjustment in there somewhere. Most bitmap and sign programs have this. If you find it, adjust to the maximum. This will give a smoother gradient transition. You should also think about a RIP for printing larger graphics. You'll see a marked improvement in quality on PROCESS prints. Also, TIFF is the best.

To prevent those nasty "stair step" lines caused by using a blend, increase your blend step and convert it to a bitmap, add some noise and that will cure you. Good luck...

A few more questions for you...
1. Would I get a better result from adding noise/dither to the bitmap, OR using the "fountain step" in the Print dialog?
2. What RIP is recommended? And how does it work with CorelDRAW?
