Not to sound too stupid, but does anyone know if Corel 11 will work with windows 98? They say its for XP, but does that mean it'll go with older systems? I've heard of people with XP having problems with some of their other software not working on it.
That $78.00 deal after rebate is starting to sound pretty good, but not if I have to change the whole system.
Can anyone advise on this???

I would'nt swear to it but I can't imagine that corel would not install on anything less than XP.. There are still too many computers running 98 and that would severly cut into their sales.

I'm running ver.9 on both 98 and XP with no problems whatsoever.

Corel 11 is definately compatible with Win98. They would be foolish to do otherwise.
I would be more concerned about getting the rebate. These BS rebate offers (some),
have a way of never showing up. A few times I have called after many months and they act suprised and then send the check. Especially with your major retail rebate offers, they count on many not to redeem the offer or to forget about it after they send it in.

I see that aparently the $79 rebate was for one day only. Oh well, it got me thinking. I wouldn't mind using II though, so long as everything else still worked OK I have ver.9 now,so I guess they would consider this an upgrade. Thats another reason to think they would make the new version so you COULD upgrade without changing your whole op system. Unless they're in cahoots with Microsoft somehow!
Thanks for the input!

I have 98 SE and Corel 11 seems to be working fine. They do tell you that some features may not function to their full capacity and others may seem slow, but since I'm faily new to Corel, I don't have a bench mark to judge against. Robin
