devo, the kids n I are finally all in one stateofOz... and thats not the 'state of disrepair'

after the flu from hell, which had me a total right off for almost 2 weeks
and then
packing a gazillion boxes
and then
puting the puppy on a plane (he traveled better than we did)
and then
having to buy a new trailer for the stuff that didnt fit into the semi
and then
getting thru our sons wedding in one peice
and then
driving 15 hours
NO MORE AND THEN!

we r here!!!!

the removalist told me that there is only 2 states to be in 'drunk or queensland'
i think queenland is a much better one
[Smile]

we r off house hunting today so i'll let u know how it goes later in the week
for now things r great

cheers

Is that thunder I hear or Devo's bungers hahahahaha

See yer in Sydney ... Vicki and I are taking the Van down and back if yer need some room for gear

Hi Gail and Devo,
I hope all goes well for you both from now on.Can't give any advice on house hunting because I am still living in the house I was born in.
Got to talk to John Johnson while in Mars, Pa.
It took me a little while to figure out that he was saying Gail when it sounded like Gyle with his Aussie accent. Every one liked him and he had a ball.

Did you put the No Vacancy Sign back up when you crossed the border?
If any more southerners move to Qld. we're going to have to move the MCG and The Big Coathanger up here as well.
Some helpful advice:
Don't forget to end every sentence with "A"
Don't ask for a schooner at the pub or worse still, ask for any beer apart from the the one that spells "Beer" as XXXX.
Don't wear any colour except maroon to football games.

But seriously folks, glad to see you could make it, drop in some time if you're down in the big smoke.

thanks folks for the kind words

bloke- after living in NZ for a few years ive got the 'A' thing down pat mate

a funny thing about the XXXX thingie thou,
it has always been an old joke down south that the reason qld beer is written XXXX is because qld'ers can't spell

yesterday my 13yr old daughter was with me at the shoping centre and asked what XXXX was?

i told her is was beer...
she said in all innocents, 'why dont they just write 'BEER'!
hehehe

the house hunting had a strange twist yesterday
after going first to every real estate agent in the area, we had a list of heaps of places to look at although none were what we really had in mind
we hoped for an elevated place, older style with heaps of room for all our junk

there are lots of these 'queenlanders' in the next town but not to many where we want to live in hervey bay

as we were leaving the last real estate agent, darren rang devo's mobile to tell us that he'd just spoken to our removalist,
and that while talking, old mate told him that the bloke behind his house had died last week`
and mrs wants to sell to move closer to her family

i gota say that when we saw the house it was a dream come true, elevated queenslander style, just a few streets from the water, a bar and workshop underneath and pleanty of sheds in the back yard AND of all things a water driven lift at the back stairs

anyone who knows me knows i don't do stairs well nowdays ( devo first suggested a 'block n tackle' to get up up n down)
[Smile]
the owner is away for a few more days but hopefully come wednesday we will know how many zillions she wants for it

i luv qld!

now to start the boxes... yuk

cheers

A great big welcome to you guys. As you know I am your closest neighbour so if there is anything I can do just shout!!. I am sure after real estate prices down mexico way that you should be in for a nice surprise when you come to buy, although prices are now on the way up because of the great southern migration but the Maryborough Hervey Bay area is still keen. I hope you guys realise that it is only a few weeks and you will have to turn around and go back to Sydney!! HaHaHA. [Razz] [Razz] See ya there.
