What a crazy day yesterday was with Mom. Since my dad is down and in the hospital, she asked me to help her out with some paper work at the bank. So as we are coming out the bank, a Fire Truck with the sirens on, lights flashing pulls up. Some lady left her child in a car seat with the windows rolled up, I think it was around 98 degrees or so, but in a car it can get hot real fast. Anyway some one called 911 about it. Which was the reason for the fire truck. They broke her window to open the locked car. Meanwhile on the other side mom is backing up and I am guiding her out to leave the bank parking lot. She accidently "taps" the side of the Fire Truck with her rear bumper. One of the firemen comes over to the driver side of my moms van. "Turn off the vehicle, and get out" So I said hold on, there is no damage to the truck. look. He says to me, it doesn't matter anytime a accident happens to a fire truck, it's the LAW that it's reported! Ok, so we step to the side. Before we know two motorcycle policemen drive up, a squad car, a Fire Reporter who takes the pitures and the report. now another squad car pulls in. Now picture this, besides people coming out of the bank, and the rubber necks, over by the teller machines there are 4 young ladies whos Jeep wouldn't start, so someone is under their hood playing mechanic, I think they had a bad battery, because later I saw someone giving them a jump. Over on the side of my mom's van is a white car with a pretty heavy guy and his family sitting waiting to get out, I was going to guide them out, but he would move, to late anyway. The firemen pull out the cones to block the area. Well they make a report and start taking pictures, So I go get my camera and take pictures too Well to make the story short, the lady finally comes out of the bank who left the kid in the car, and she gets scolded and a citation. The young ladies get their Jeep started. Mom is free to go and the guy who didn't move finally got out of his car with a screw driver in his hand lays down under the front of his car and starts his motor. I tell my mom, "Dang Mom you sure caused a lot of commotion" She says I felt like this was a movie scene, she and myself start laughing...

Hey Cisco....sounds like you had quite a day! I think it is a good idea to carry a camera in your car. When somebody backed into me in a parking lot one time (and claimed it wasn't their fault) I sure could have used a camera. Lucky I had witnesses.

I saw a scene slightly similar (to the kid in car part of the story) on 20/20 or cops, but the mom was arrested after the dad arrived to take the kid. I think in that case it was a baby & may have even needed medical attention before being released to the father. The mom may have actually been sentenced to serve time for neglect/abuse or whatever the charge was.

When you come to"Coupe du Main" you can..... Hug a Duck!!! Eat Aligator!!! Cut the rug !!! and Sling some paint!!! ALMOST as exciting as being with your Mom for one day.

Cheryl, yes One of the best things I did was to get a digital camera, it sure saves lot of time in more ways than one. Glad I had it with me that day.
Doug, HAHAHAhahaaAhaHah I had a good laugh on the guide, that's me the best guide this side of the Mississippi. Far as that lady she got off easy, her child could have gotten it worst, the temps can get hot real fast in a car!
Kathy, yup had Mom laughing about it even today. And yes, just a few short days away and I'll out there burning that floor with yhawl. Looking forward to it.
