You can tell I've been off the auto/truck show circuit for awhile. Never heard of a Ford "lighting" pickup until last night!
Young fellow stop by my home to ask about having the " Lighting " letters etched onto his rear windows.
I know I have never seen this letter sytle in any of my graphic packages. Does anyone have access to just the word " Lighting " as used on the Ford pickup?
I went to the page that Fergie linked to and did this...
I downloaded the logo from the Lightning page with a right mouse click, save picture as..., and saved the file. The I went into Photopaint and resampled the file as 200 DPI. The resampling allows you add some kind of detail to the bitmap. Then I saved the file under new name with "Save as".
Then I took the GIF into CASmate, Resampled the contrast, posterized in 3 colors, and vectorized the bitmap. Then using the editting tools, I cleaned up the vectors, and saved.
All of this took roughly 45 minutes to accomplish. Not quite the amazing step-by-steps that Don Coplen is doing but I hope it is helpful.
B/T/W... Welcome to Letterville! I hope your back is feeling better.
Have a great one!

Thanks guys
Just what I was looking for.
Brain dead - did not think of going to the fordlighting.com site.
Kids and their toys! Just out of High School and this kid is driving a $25 - 30K truck???? The light show that he can put on must have cost a bundle, let alone the electronics!

Nice rendering Bruce!! Glad to hear someone tell the truth about how long it takes to vectorize something like that.
Just curious?? Could ya post it at 300 dpi and make it easier fer me to vectorize or could ya just e-mail it to me in AI or EPS format and make my life a WHOLE lot easier???
Just kiddin Bruce!! ( I already have the pic saved)
