The entire town made us feel welcomed, but I would like to single out one couple in particular.

 -

This is Bill and March and they lived in the apartment complex at the end of Grand Avenue. This was a picture snapped during or right after the parade Saturday evening. (Sorry, I missed the parade and the wife snapped a few during the event) Everyone from the town was very nice (even when we parked them in their driveways and they couldn’t get out.) but this wonderful couple just made the weekend for us!

While getting ready to go for diner Thursday evening, they inquired about the mural we were working on and about the event in general. A relationship blossomed in a very short time frame and we spoke often during the entire event. Bill’s walker received some personal attention from DeWayne Connot (I think it was DeWayne) and someone also laid some lines down on their car one day. They were tickled pink with the entire shebang! And what do you know; they’re on the internet! Kathy has emailed them already upon our return last night and plans to keep in touch with those very special “mars-hins”.

Bits-N-Pieces from Mars:

Great folks in a great town. Thanks for the memory’s Mars!

There was one sour incident that occured during the meet. A well known "computer geek" showed up trying to unload hot clipart. Despite his efforts to kiss-up, the Sign Police eventually gave him the boot.

Just to make sure credit gets to the right people, DeWayne may have put the stripes on their car, but Dave Jeffries ("the Letterman" or "the Virus") painted the cute little aliens and "virus" designs on the walker.

It was a wonderful weekend with lots of Letterhead friends (old and new) and quite a few Martians as new friends as well.

Thanks again Jill and the entire crew that worked so hard to make it possible!

Busted!

But having never met a real life celebrity before, I sent him on his way with a strict warning. [Wink]

Hey Bob...
You really got to know the dirt in a relatively short time! I know the townies were tickled. They were still gossiping about it when Catherine & I helped take down scaffolding at Shaw yesterday. They still don't have a clue...
I saw Clip Art when I was running to get an extension cord for someone. I tied him to the train tracks with it, and the next morning, there were a bunch of smashed Canadian pennies laying about...
Love
JILL

I think the proof is in the "wireless" pics that were taken on Saturday.
