“Thanks” about sums it up the best for me.

Thanks to everyone that attended! Thanks to those that fronted organized classes as well as the impromptu one’s; each just as important as the other. Thanks to the project leaders and helpers that left more “permanent” marks on Mar’s. And thanks to that small little community, both businesses and residents, that welcomed everyone with open arms, what a neat little corner of the world. Thanks to the vendors that understand the movement and supported the event by attending or other means to help make it happen. Great to visit with existing friends and establish new ones.

And finally but perhaps most importantly, thanks to Jill and her “staff” that stepped up to the plate to host this years International meet for us “heads” and all the efforts put forth to make it happen!!

You’ns dun good! -

Thanks Jillbeans!!

thanks for the thanks for jill!!she is truly an amazing little bundle of brains, creativity, skills, and fun. her family is all so proud of her. my mom watched full of tears at all that went on. she was busting at the seams with pride. i think the letterheads have some more fans. on a sad note.. some one walked away with a special panel that was painted for jill by dewayne. she was bummed.i guess it takes all kinds. [Frown] .. fiddles

that is a bummer. anyone who would walk off with a panel is nothing but a thief!!!

i sure hope the jerk that stole it will look at it every once in a while and feel real proud for stealing from a fellow letterhead.(whoever did, you are not a letterhead, you're another kind of head!)

otherwise i am enjoying the pics tremendously, a great way to get the creative juices flowing on a monday.

Yes, thank you Jill for all you've done. I can just imagine how hard it is on you to organize such a big event. It was truely an awesome, fun time. You made it all happen and can be proud of that (once you get some good rest, hahaha).

LizAnne and I, and our two boys had a great time. Thank you very much. And thank you Faye for helping out, and keeping everyone informed. Jill can be proud to have a sis like you.

It was really great to see old friends again and make new ones. Everywhere we went people were energized and friendly, letterheads, their families, and all the towns folk. What a great bunch of people there. And I thank everyone who gave me tips and tricks, I really appreciate it. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with the guy who was using createx auto air? I think he's from the south somewhere.

And that band on saturday night really rocks, it was all great!!!!!

Again, thank you Jill, your the best!!!!!!

Thanks also from Fly Creek to Jill, Fiddles, and everyone else who made this a special weekend for me, and all the other attendees.

There are some super-special talents out there, and I don't want to leave out the residents of Mars---a great bunch of folks who went all out to make us feel welcome.

Hey Jill,
I hope you're sleeping right now and won't get this message till you're all rested! Thanks for all you did to lend a home-town feel to the meet. How much did you pay the locals to treat us so well?

Bruce

Hey Mark! How far away are you from MARS? I forgot my boards that show the 4 lettering examples from my seminar....See if Jill has em and they can be your guides. I'll make new ones.

Keep at it, and see you at another meet soon!

Mike, thanks!! I kept all of the practice boards That we worked on as well as what Art and I was doing. I talked to Jill yesterday, I'll call her again today. I'm only 27 miles from her and plan on stopping by Thursday or Friday.

As much as I'd like to keep them, I have ABSOLUTLY no problem shipping them to ya.

Thanks for everything! I'll be seeing you soon at another meet!!

Yup, thanks Jill!

Learned lots down in the carving pavillion. Thanks Joe C. for sharing your knowledge.

Next meet I get to, I'm definately taking a project or panel to work on. I can only walk around looking and taking pictures for so long! [Frown]

Faye,

Tell Jill that DeWayne will send out another panel to her. This is getting crazy! The panel that DeWayne painted for Dave Jeffries in Wisconsin grew feet as well. I guess it's a compliment of sorts... but it's just a real bummer that this keeps happening!

Thanks to everyone who went out of their way to make a "New Guy" feel welcome! Your time and consideration for others will always be much appreciated. World Class.

It was one of the most positive+ experiences I have ever had as an artist and a person.(did I mention a bit humbling too?) If there was ever an event that changed the direction of my life, this was it!

See you next time!
Long live the cellar dwellars!

Faye,

Is the Foodland mural done?

Posted by Jillbeans (Member # 1912) on :

Hi all
Just tying up some loose stuff. We finally got a chance to get to the library to email & etc.
The Foodland is 98% complete. The scaffolding's still up, and Bill Berberich will be out painting this weekend if any local Letterheads wanna stop by & pitch in.
Myself, I am going camping. I need to do laundry & pack up, but camping sounds kinda nice about now. They have showers & flush toilets, too, and the same band, The Jentz, will play on Sunday night.
Monday I did school shopping. I took Felix to the store to but lasagna ingredients too.
I can't remeber what I did yesterday, something to do with scaffolding, and a customer who's ****ed at me cause I ran out of time to letter his truck boards stopped by to retrieve them. They worked well as an impromptu table to hold up stuff Catherine & I were painting for the meet...Last night, we took Catherine to her first Drive-In movie. I slept thru "SIGNS", an appropriately titled flick.
Tonite, with a heavy heart, I return my Catherine to the airport...sniff...
Tomorrow, I have to crank out 7 banners for the football team.
The only time I cried was when someone called my house at 3 am Friday night. I think I got about 6 hours total sleep between Tuesday & Saturday. But I'm not complaining, only accounting for my dark circles & bitchy-ness.
Love to all-
JILL

Jill,

I've got a couple of small jobs for tomorrow AM. If I can get them done in time and if I don't get any ASAP (you know, forgot to tell me last but need it NOW jobs), maybe we can knock out those banners for ya! For sure I'll be open Friday.

Signed:
Earnest

Even though I don’t call Letterville home (since my occupation does not fall within this industry), I hope that you will allow me the pleasure of invading your world for just a moment. I wanted to thank Jill for doing an absolutely fabulous job with the meet! I can’t even begin to image all the work that she (and others) must have put into it. It was greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Bill Masters for allowing me to help (I am not sure “help” is the right word) with his mural. The phrase “Bill can fix anything” was used quite liberally as I was painting! - I had a blast! Everyone was so nice (Letterheads as well as townfolk) and the food was great. I had the pleasure of meeting quite a few new people and hope to see them all again. I also got to see people that I had met at other meets. I feel like I am just starting to get to know some of you. There were so many talented artists there and I took great pleasure in being able to see them at work. I have to say, however, that the one piece that just knocked my socks off was the airbrushed frog. I am sorry to say that I don’t know the name of the artist (even though I spoke to him briefly), but…wow, that was just awesome, no, it was beautiful! There are two photos of the piece buried somewhere in the many that Bob posted. If you didn’t get to see it, check it out! - Well, again, thanks everyone and I hope that I will be seeing you again at another meet or meeting you for the first time real soon!
Kathy
