Yep,

My lease is up, the landloard is a jerk, so I found a nice commercial strip building facing the street with lighted signs over the doors and a huge overhead door in the back of the building.

Twice the square footage for the same $$$$$ and the commercial park has like 25 business, including a moving company with lots of trucks, a medical supplier, with lots of trucks....yada yada yada. Its a cold sales call paradise! [Smile]
Being in the same complex with them should warm the reception up towards us a bit!

The best news is that it is 2 blocks away from my present location.

Since we moved the business out of the house, a leap of faith for sure, the extra income from being visible has paid for the rent. Much more respect comes also, and I've increased my prices with no apparent loss of clients. Im aslo attracting different kinds of customers...less jerks and more "business" people who know good signage is extremely key to their markets. You should hear them bitch about the Sign-a-ding dong franchise shops.

But the biggest help has been BNI, the business referral group I joined. I have adveraged $1000 per month in business that I never would have known about. Not bad for the $320.00 sign up fee!

I also joined the Chamber of Commerce, but it just hasn't done squat for us, even tough I attend most all the functions.

Just an FYI, a business that functions properly is connected and active with a minimum of 3 business groups. Learned that from the other businessmen at our meetings. That means a lot of time spent at the ELKS, MOOSE, CHAMBER, BNI, PTA, PTO, MAD, SHRINERS, YADA YADA YADA. The time to pick a new group is when the group starts asking for free jobs or excessive volunteer time.

Like one Letterhead said here a few months back..."If you want milk...You got to find the cows!

Dave, didn't ya just move recently?

Can ya believe, I'm an Elk, Moose and Eagle?

Most my work comes from those interested in quality of work and I get many referrals from persons who know the difference between attitude and accent!
