Hi Heads- So glad to hear yins are comin' dahn to Mars an' 'at. OK I'll quit with the Pixburgh accent. We've waxed our spaceship, t-shirts are being printed, port-o-potties are rented, walls are primed & ready, pierogies haqve been ordered, banners painted, we're loading up supplies and door prizes & getting more in by the hour, I'm redding up my house for Catherine, and tryin' to find out how to get to the airport so I can pick her up next week! Do bring yer kilt, Mike, since you're so buff. It would match your slippers! John, you're a sweetheart. Are you bringing up some fidigity-grubs? (or whatever they're called) I hear they're a perfect accompaniment for Iron City Beer! Love to all- ready & waiting for yins. JILL

Barb and I can't wait to get back to Mars! We dropped in for a quick visit on a rainy day last April. Here's a few photos.
If you are coming in by spaceship, use this photo to locate your landing spot on the town square.
After landing, take a few minutes to check-out the guys that arrived before you. Looks like this space rod could stand some stripping.
You'll probally be hungry after your long voyage. Look across the street and you'll see Susie Q's Place, THE place to eat in Mars.
Look at the window. Jill has transformed it into a Letterhead Shrine. There are photos and panels from past meets, as well as personal items about Jill's early years as a signmaker. Very impressive! The Citizens of Mars are very well informed about Letterheads and looking forward to our arrival.
Barb are I are booked in at the local Motel6. We're planning on bringing our 5 year old Grand Daughter Lydia along. She wants to paint too!
If you've always wondered about this Letterhead Thing, this is an excellant time to load up your spaceship and blast-off to Mars. Jill, and the good people of Mars have worked their buns off preparing for our arrival. This is going to be a hoot!
I'll try to position myself down by the Welcome To Mars sign. Looking forward to seeing our old friends and sharing in the excitement of all you firsttimers.
If you have been vacationing on Pluto the last year, and have no idea what we are talking about, this link is for you.
Hey Steve! You are DA MAN!!!! Did you say something about stripping? Love- JILL PS GREAT PHOTOS & POST! THANX.

If your flying into the Pittsburgh Airport, post your arrival time on the other post an maybe we can somewhat arrange a group carpool!!
Posted by Dana Bowers (Member # 780) on :
What I wouldn't do to be able for us to go!! We are planning a MN trip in Sept, so money's real tight.
What would the registration be for just Saturday? I'm trying to figure out the total $$ thing if we drive down Friday night after work(thats if I can kiss some serious hiney to get a Saturday off...). Looks like the cheapest hotel is gonna be $120 for 2 nites, plus the gas, plus whatever is registration for one day for the 2 of us.
The cats and the bird will be ok for a few days, but I would either have to find someone to look after the world's cutest lil dog, or bring him with (he does love car rides, is well behaved and crate trained...)
geeez... we need to win the lotto...
Posted by Dana Bowers (Member # 780) on :
YIKES... not looking very promising... only 2 hotels left with rooms - Red Roof at $70 per nite (no pets allowed) and the Sheraton at $115 per nite. Bruce won't camp.
Poop.

I'm paying 45.00US per night for a standard room with a double bed.
